World Poker Tour -- World Poker Finals Begins Tomorrow

$10,000 No-limit Hold’em Event Scheduled for Six Days

Jonathan Little wins the 2008 WPT World Poker FinalsThe World Poker Tour is returning to New England once again for the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Hotel and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The $10,000 no-limit hold’em championship event begins on Thursday, Nov. 5 at noon EST. The tournament will conclude when a champion is crowned at the final table on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Card Player will feature daily news recaps about the event. The WPT event is the 17th event on a schedule of 20 tournaments for the 2009 World Poker Finals tournament series. Last year, poker professional Jonathan Little (pictured left) defeated a field of 411 other players to take home $1,120,213 and his second WPT title.

Players will begin with 30,000 in starting chips in the $10,000 WPT championship event and levels will be 90 minutes long. All tournament days will begin at noon, except for the final table, which begins at 4 p.m. Here is a look at the full schedule for the event:
