Tom Dwan's Million Dollar Challenge starts next weekTom “Durrrr” Dwan takes his highly anticipated Million Dollar Challenge to the live arena when he sits down to play Sammy “Any Two” George today. He will play 500 hands of no-limit hold’em against George at blind levels of $500/$1,000 with both players sitting down with $500,000 before moving on to play Marcello “Luckexpress” Marigliano tomorrow then switching to pot-limit Omaha against Illari “Ziigmund” Sahamies tomorrow.

Dwan will take to the felt for the Full Tilt sponsored, Matchroom Sport produced TV spectacular at Les Ambassadeurs club in Mayfair in the English capital.

The format will see Dwan, who joined Team Full Tilt earlier this month, play each of his opponents in a heads up cash game over 500 hands with a $500,000 starting stack and blinds of $500/$1,000. Each match will play out until a player busts or 500 hands have been completed.

George was the first to accept the challenge a few months back but has been joined by fearsome high-stakes Omaha player Sahamies and cash specialist Marigliano.

Sahamies was enthusiastic about the challenge that lay ahead. “I am always excited to play my good friend Tom,” he said. “He is one of the best hold’em and PLO players in the world, and when I heard about the challenge I couldn‘t wait to sign up. With the gambling, the side-bets, the partying and the drinking in London, this is going to be a whole lot of fun.”

Dwan has recently suffered a significant downswing against the mysterious Isildur1 at the high-stakes tables on Full Tilt which could end up having a significant bearing on these games.

The matches will be recorded by Matchroom Sports and broadcast on Sky Sports across Europe in early 2010.
