Doyle Brunson recently announced 22-year-old Dani “Ansky” Stern as the newest member of the DoylesRoom “Brunson 10.” As their website proclaims, Brunson is currently in the process of hand-picking 10 young pros to lead “the next generation of legends to rise up and follow in the footsteps of the greatest man to ever play the game.” Stern is now the fifth team member to be added, joining the likes of Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, Amit “amak316’ Makhija, Alec “traheho” Torelli, and Zachary “Crazy Zachary” Clark.
“I’ve seen Ansky play on TV, I’ve seen him play online, and I’ve seen him talk poker like someone who’s been playing for decades,” Brunson said of the young pro. “Dani ‘Anksy’ Stern is the future of this game, and I’m proud to have him on my team.”
Stern got his start in poker with a small $20 deposit online, and in two years he built his bankroll high enough to tackle $25-$50 no-limit hold’em. Three years later, and he’s still competing at some of the highest stakes online. In addition to his cash-game success, Stern has won more than $800,000 in tournaments, with the highlight coming last summer at the $40,000 WSOP Anniversary Event, where he finished in fourth place.
Stern also got a lot of television exposure with his recent stint on the G4TV show, Two Months, Two Million.
