Five-Diamond World Poker Classic Series Preview

Bellagio Winter Tournament Series Will Feature 18 Events

BellagioThe last major tournament series of the year will begin on Friday, Nov. 27, when cards get into the air for the 2009 Five-Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio. The first event is a $500 no-limit hold’em event that is sponsored by SpadeClub.com. The tournament series will host a total of 18 events and the games spread will include no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and H.O.R.S.E. The tournament series will conclude with the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Classic $15,000 no-limit hold’em championship that begins on Monday, Dec. 14 and crowns a champion on Saturday, Dec. 19.

The tournament series will offer three $5,000 buy-in preliminary events. A $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. event begins on Dec. 8, a $5,000 pot-limit Omaha event with rebuys begins on Dec. 10, and $5,000 no-limit hold’em event will begin on Dec. 12. There will also be a $1,500 seniors no-limit hold’em event on Dec. 6. Super-satellites for the championship event will run Dec. 12-14. Here is a look at the full schedule for the tournament series:

(Note: All prelims — except the seniors event — are two-day events. The seniors event is a three-day tournament, and the championship event is a six-day tournament. Super-satellites are one-day events.)

Thursday, Dec. 3: Event No. 7 ($1,500 pot-limit Omaha with rebuys)
Friday, Dec. 4: Event No. 8 ($500 no-limit hold’em)
Saturday, Dec. 5: Event No. 9 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em with rebuys)
Sunday, Dec. 6: Event No. 10 ($1,500 seniors no-limit hold’em)
Monday, Dec. 7: Event No. 11 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
