Ilari SahamiesAfter nearly a week of rest, it was back to the grind for Isildur1 and the Full Tilt cast of crazies. Tom “durrrr” Dwan started off in the black with back-to-back winning sessions and a $1.5 million upswing. The next day, Isildur1 picked up a nice $1.6 million win of his own, only this time it didn’t come from Dwan, but rather Finnish pro Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. (pictured right)

In fact, it seemed like Sahamies was the only major player to lose on the day, as he dropped a total of $2 million. Dwan and Brian Townsend each picked up small wins, Patrik Antonius won nearly $400,000, but it was Isildur1 who won the lion’s share with $1.6 million.

It was a nice showing for the anonymous Swede, who was coming off of a near $6 million downswing. He started off his session down $400,000 and bounced back to put himself up about $2 million. Amazingly, he lost most of it with a bad run of cards before settling with a $1.6 million profit. If anything, Isildur1 once again proved just how much variance can affect a player’s bottom line in the world of high-stakes cash games.

Interestingly, Isildur1 was playing pot-limit Omaha at both the $300-$600 and $500-$1,000 level. At the “lower” stakes, he was crushed to the tune of almost $900,000, but his dominance in the bigger game was so much so that it more than made up for his losses.
