Steve Van ZadelhoffDutch poker pro, Steven Van Zadelhoff, has had his house raided and belongings impounded by Dutch tax athorities demanding uncollected tax income reportedly amounting to hundreds of thousands of euro, according to newspaper De Telegraaf.

The tax authorities are demanding access to his online poker accounts but Van Zadelhoff and his lawyer Peter Plasman are refuting the claim with Plasman telling the paper, “We were and still are in negotiation with the tax office. My client has never suggested not wanting to pay his debts. He is leaving for Malta because he needs to relax in a peaceful environment without worrying about taxes".

The paper reports that other Dutch pros such as Marcel Luske and former Card Player writer Peter Dalhuijsen have long since moved from the Netherlands to avoid punitive taxation.
