Online Poker -- Steve Gross and Casey Jarzabek Extend Their Lead in OPOY RaceGross Sits Atop Leader Board For Fourth Week in a Row |
|
On Sunday, Steve “gboro780” Gross finally created some distance between himself and Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek in the Card Player Online Player of the Year race when he took down the $100 rebuy on PokerStars for $85,921. Little did he know that just a few hours later, Jarzabek would keep the pace by taking down the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan, scoring a $58,124 payday of his own.
The two are now separated by just 168 points, but they do hold a lead of more than 1,000 points over third-place resident Ronald “ronaldgrauer” Grauer, who final-tabled the Wednesday Quarter Million on PokerStars to pick up some points.
Gross now has $472,930 in online winnings on the year, but most importantly, he has “picked up a sponsorship from DoylesRoom.com as the newest member of the Brunson 10”:http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/8711-online-poker-steve-gboro780-gross-joins-doylesroom-brunson-10. Gross joins Alex “AJKHoosier1” Kamberis, among others, meaning both of Card Player’s most-recent OPOY winners are now members of the prestigious group.
Here’s a look at the rest of the top 10.
