LAPT LogoThe PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour announced today that it has added a stop in Lima, Peru to the season three schedule. The $2,700 no-limit hold’em tournament will take place June 2-5 at the Atlantic City Casino in Peru’s capital city. There will be a number of side events offered at the LAPT Lima tour stop and super-satellites for the main event will begin running in Lima on June 1.

“We are both pleased and excited to announce Lima, Peru as a new stop on the Latin American Poker Tour," said LAPT President David Carrion. “This event is the result of a warm collaboration and partnership between the LAPT, the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, and the broader Municipality of Miraflores. Together we will create an exhilarating event where players from dozens of different countries are going to travel here and find a unique experience in this outstanding setting.”

This is the first time that an LAPT event is being held in Peru, and the coastal community of Miraflores located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean will provide a picturesque setting.

“We are thrilled to host such a prestigious event as a LAPT in Miraflores,” said Manuel Masias, the Mayor of Miraflores. “It will be a great opportunity to offer a taste of the local Peruvian sights, sounds and culture to the international community.”

In addition to preliminary poker tournaments there will also be a LAPT invitational high-stakes cash game that will be hosted at the Lima stop. The cash game will be recorded for television production and interested players are encouraged to contact the LAPT.

Satellite tournaments will begin running on PokerStars.net shortly. Prize packages will include the $2,700 main event buy-in, travel accommodations in Lima, and a stipend for travel expenses.
