Phil Ivey bookies favourite for WSOP main eventWith the World Series of Poker just around the corner in Las Vegas, European bookmakers have opened their first betting markets on 2010’s main event.

The Bet365 “to win outright” market sees Phil Ivey as favourite at 80/1 with Gus Hansen at 100/1, and Phil Hellmuth, Peter Eastgate, Patrik Antonius, and Daniel Negreanu at 125/1.

Tom Dwan, Carlos Mortensen, and Chris Ferguson are 150/1 while Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Joe Hachem, John Juanda, and Phil Laak are 175/1.

80/1 shots include Roland de Wolfe, Erick Lindgren, Andy Black, and Max Pescatori.

The bookie makes Tony Cascarino, Michael Greco, Katja Thater, and David Pham 175/1 long-shots to reach the final nine.

Finally Sportingbet has the ‘age of winner’ market at 3/4 for 34 years plus and 19/20 for under 34 years and its 1/2 for an American to win the event and 7/5 for a non-U/S citizen to lift the title.
