The California State Poker Championship begins on Wednesday, May 5 at Commerce Casino in the greater Los Angeles area. The first event is a $220 no-limit hold’em tournament with a $500,000-guaranteed prize pool that is scheduled for five days. If you bust out of the event, you may re-enter on day 1B, 1C, or 1D. The final day will take place on Sunday, May 9. The tournament series will host a total of 22 events, and it will come to a close when a champion is crowned in the $3,085 no-limit hold’em championship on May 23.
Games spread will include limit and no-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, Omaha eight-or-better, seven-card stud, eight-game mixed, and H.O.R.S.E. Variations of no-limit hold’em tournaments include heads-up, six-handed, double stack, turbo, bounty, and shootout formats. Buy-ins range from $220-$3,085.
Super-satellites for the championship event will take place May 5-14 at 7 p.m. The buy-in is $120 and rebuys are $100 during the first hour. Players begin with 1,500 in chips and blinds begin at 25-50. Levels will be 25 minutes during the rebuy period and 20 minutes thereafter. Mega satellites with a buy-in of $335 will run May 15-20 at 7 p.m. There will be additional mega-satellites on May 20 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Players will receive 4,000 in chips and blinds begin at 25-50. Levels will be 30 minutes long.
The $3,085 no-limit hold’em championship begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 21 and it is scheduled for three days. Players will begin with 10,000 in chips and blinds begin at 25-50. Levels will be 60 minutes long, and increase to 90 minutes in length at the final table. Here is a look at the schedule for the championship event:
