The SCOOP.The list of champions for the 2010 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is a regular who’s who of the online poker world. In the past week, more than 50 players have claimed victories and many have vaulted themselves into Online Player of the Year contention, as well.

At this point in the series, 90 tournaments have been played with more than $41 million divided between 118,717 unique entrants. Over 168 countries have participated, but that number is expected to grow by the time the main event wraps up this weekend.

Shaun DeebThe biggest story of the week came from Shaun Deeb, who made headlines late last year when he “retired” from poker tournaments, despite sitting in third place overall in the OPOY rankings. Deeb has since returned from his sabbatical and finally broke through for his first win since coming back by taking down event No. 17 for $62,251. Deeb beat out 742 other players in the pot-limit Omaha with rebuys tournament, and looks like it won’t take long to shake all of the dust off of his game.

Speaking of comebacks, Jennifer “Jennicide” Leigh is back in the winner’s circle after winning event No. 18, a limit hold’em tournament. Leigh is now in 29th place on the SCOOP leader board, which will award prize packages and main-event tickets to the top three finishers.

Jennifer LeighThe current leader is Jorj95, who has an impressive 26 SCOOP cashes, five of which are final-table appearances. Francis “teacuppoker” Cagney, who won event No. 27, sits in second place overall and has 18 cashes of his own.

The biggest winner in terms of money won this week was Mohsin “sms9231” Charania, who won event No. 20 for $380,364.
