Lots of people will be logging onto Full Tilt to compete in the MSOP.While guys like Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Phil Ivey will be sequestered at the Rio for much of the summer, trying to win one of those elusive bracelets, Full Tilt Poker is running its creative mini WSOP for amateurs who might not be able to afford such a hefty tournament price tag and a plane ticket to Las Vegas.

Officially named the Mini Series of Poker (MSOP), Full Tilt will run a tournament series from May 28 to July 11 that mirrors that of the WSOP in Las Vegas, only at 1/100th the buy-in.

With 57 events for online players on the docket, no one will be competing for a WSOP bracelet per se, but there will be an exclusive Full Tilt Poker champion’s watch bestowed upon each winner, in addition to what is sure to be a hefty first-place prize.

Just like the real WSOP in Vegas, there are a few standout events on Full Tilt’s schedule. While the $50,000 Players Championship might as well be played on a different planet for the bankrolls of many online players, they will have a better chance of playing in the more affordable $500 (+$35) seven-game championship on Full Tilt on May 28 at 20:20 p.m. ET.

Other intriguing events include the $27.50 six-handed no-limit hold’em event on July 2, a modestly priced $5.50 no-limit hold’em event on May 28, and a $109 main event, which will begin on July 11.
