Chris Moneymaker was the second person eliminated in his first round Poker Superstars Invitational 3 match, but that wouldn't happen the second time around. Thanks in part to a run of good cards, he won his table and earned 10 desperately needed points after earning just a single point his first outing.

Mike "the Mouth" Matusow, on the other hand, has 0 points after his first two matches when he was the first person to bust out again Sunday. He was sent away from the table after Jeff Shulman called Matusow's all-in with T-9. Matusow was ahead until A-A-T hit the flop with no help on the turn or river.

In order to advance to the second round of 16 players, he'll probably have to finish in at least the top three in his last three matches.

Mimi Tran was knocked out next holding Q-J against Antonio Esfandiari's K-Q. She earned 1 point for the match, giving her 6 points after two rounds.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson was next to go, earning 3 points for his fourth-place finish. He entered the match with 0 points, and like Matusow, will have to perform well in his final three matches to make it to the second round. Short-stacked, Ferguson found his way all in against Esfandiari A-Q with A-7, and that was it.

With three players left, Shulman and Esfandiari could have virtually locked up enough points for the second round with a victory, but it wouldn't be.

Shulman finished third after going all-in with K-J against Moneymaker's A-5. Barely ahead preflop, Moneymaker stayed ahead and sent Shulman home with 15 points after two rounds.

Esfandiari added 7 points to the 10 he took into the match with his second-place finish. He sits at the top of the leader board, but these players were the first six to play a second match. He already exceeded the amount of points he earned in last year's competition, and barring a major meltdown, should easily advance to the round of 16.

Moneymaker stayed alive with his victory and walked out of the Golden Nugget with 11 points when his Q-T held against "The Magician's" J-2.

Next weel, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Greg Raymer, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, and Cyndy Violette will have their second match aired on FSN at 8 p.m. local time. Negreanu won his first match for 10 points. On the other hand, Ivey, Harman, and Violette all finished in fifth place in round one and earned 1 point.
