Betsson Poker’s revenue plummeted 21 percent in the second quarter of 2010 to SEK25.3 million (€2.68 million) from SEK31.9 million (€3.38 million) in the same period of last year. The second quarter 2010 was also down 17 percent on the SEK30.3 million generated in the first quarter of 2010.
Poker, as a percentage of overall gross profit at Betsson, is now just 8.7 percent compared to 14.2 percent in the second quarter of 2009. Casino is Betsson’s largest product and accounted for 59.6 percent of gross profit in the period compared to 70.7 pecent a year earlier while sportsbook was the most successful business channel, growing to 26.7 percent compared to 11.5 percent last year.
Betsson Poker declined 17 percent overall in 2009 and by 26 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2010.
Not all news in the company’s interim statement was gloomy however – overall revenue at the Swedish betting operator grew 29 percent to SEK366.1 million (€38.7) from SEK284.6 million (€30.1 million) in the second period of 2009.
