Sergio Castelluccio has won the PokerStars.com Italian Poker Tour San Remo, topping the 396-strong field to take down the €200,000 top prize.
All eight finalists in the €2,000 + €200 buy in event were Italian and Castelluccio started the day third in chips. His heads up opponent was PokerStars qualifier Stefano Demontis who started the final table fourth in chips.
Demontis took €120,000 for his second place finish which was determined when he shoved all in preflop with K Q and was up against Castelluccio’s A 7.
The board fell 9 7 7 2 9 to make a full house for Castelluccio and he joined recent winner Tamas Lendvai as a PokerStars.com IPT Champion.
The next stop on the tour rolls into Nova Gorica from September 22 to 29.
