Brit Matt Perrins Wins Italian Poker Tour Venice

Young Perrins Beats Big Names to Take Down Venice Stop of IPT

Brit pro Matt Perrins beat 438 other players at the PokerStars.com Italian Poker Tour Venice including some big names such as Johnny Lodden, Dario Minieri, and Vanessa Rousso.

The 21-year-old from Manchester took home the lion’s share of €200,000 from a total prize pool of €851,660.

His heads up opponent was Swede Johannes Sodastrom and the last hand of the event came when Perrins’ KSpade Suit 10Spade Suit slaughtered Sodastrom’s pocket fours on a board that fell KClub Suit KHeart Suit 8Club Suit 2Diamond Suit 3Heart Suit. Sodastrom earned €120,000 for his runner-up finish.

Perrins is now the first foreign player to win an IPT title.

The Tour moves on to San Remo for its third stop at the end of the month, but so far Venice has been the most successful. San Remo was also the IPT’s debut stop and it was there that Stefano Puccilli took down €120,000 as the Tour’s first champion.
