The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Dublin main event came to an end yesterday evening with 20-year-old Londoner Max Silver walking away with the €72,000 top prize.
The Englishman who lives in Dublin also received entry into the UKIPT’s season finale, the £5,250 buy-in European Poker Tour London event. His win comes just weeks after his sixth-place finish at the UKIPT Edinburgh.
With a total of 590 players, the €500 + €60 buy-in main event saw a prize pool of €295,000. At the business end of things, when the final table kicked off, four players busted within the first 30 minutes. Silver kept on chipping up and when it eventually came to heads-up play, he held a 6-1 chip advantage against Ronan Gilligan.
In the ultimate hand, Gilligan raised, Silver reraised all in, and Gilligan called flipping over A 5 while Silver tabled pocket queens. The queens held and Gilligan finished runner-up for €43,400.
Here are the final table payouts and results:
1. Max Silver, €72,000
2. Ronan Gilligan, €43,400
3. Tom Kitt, €26,400
4. Ciaran Taggart, €19,500
5. Kevin Allen €15,200
6. Anton Kouliavtsev €12,100
7. Ursula Marmion €9,200
8. Peter McGarvey €6,900
The UKIPT Grand Final will take place at the EPT London in the Hilton Metropole, London from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4. This is the last event of the very first season of the UKIPT, and it will also determine who sits on top of the UKIPT leader board. The person at the top will receive an entry into every stop on the next season of the UKIPT.
Qualifiers for the Grand Final are now running on PokerStars.com for as little as £4.40 or 550 FPPs.
