The Venetian Poker Room, located in the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, announced it will hold a $500,000 freeroll in August.

Players can get into the freeroll by accumulating 50 hours of rated play in May, June, and July, or accumulating 200 hours of play by July 31. The tournament will be held Aug. 11-13. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 200 players in the tournament. Players need a Player's Card to participate and track the hours.

The Venetian is billing its new 36-table poker room as the most luxurious on The Strip, boasting 21 large-screen plasma televisions in a room that's "draped in rich leather and wood," according to the website. The room opened in April and several promotions are taking place to attract players.

A bad beat jackpot was started. Poker players can obtain a parking pass that gives them special valet parking as well as access to an exclusive "poker parking only" area on the fifth floor of the parking garage.

The pass is limited to availability and can be obtained from the poker room manager.
