PokerStars Raises Over £20,000 For Cancer Research

EPT London Charity Event Gets 646 Entries, More Donations Online

EPT founder John Duthie took part in the charity eventThe PokerStars EPT London charity event has shipped over £20,000 to Cancer Research UK.

The tournament ran from October 2-4 at London’s Hilton Metropole Hotel. It had 646 entries, including re-buys, of the £120 buy-in. £10 of each buy-in was put aside to donate to cancer research. PokerStars players were also able to transfer funds directly to a special ‘cancerUK’ account to contribute. PokerStars matched all contributions, creating a pool of over £20,000 to be donated to Cancer Research UK, the UK’s leading cancer charity.

Twenty-two year old student Arnoud van der Werf won the event and £20,000. Also participating in the tournament were EPT founder John Duthie, UKIPT Manchester champion Joeri Zandvliet, EPTLive commentator Nick Wealthall, and British Team PokerStars Pro Julian Thew.
