Still, Shapiro used pure skill to get deep in this tournament and almost scored a handsome payday in the process. Shortstacked, he made his move with pocket jacks and was racing against Cory Zeidman's A-K. A king on the flop sealed his fate and Shapiro was eliminated from the tournament.
Deciding to throw in a joke on his way out, Shapiro asked, "Why didn't they just cut my throat."
