Big Hands:
Boyd Crippled By Kicker
Dutch Boyd is living on fumes after getting into a battle with Chris Ferguson in the small blind as well as the big blind. Boyd raised preflop to 400 and drew calls from both blinds. The flop came down A 8 5 . which drew a check from Ferguson, a bet from the big blind, and subsequent calls from Boyd and Ferguson. The turn was the 9 , and action was checked to Boyd who bet 400, and drew calls from both players. The J fell on the river, Ferguson checked and the big blind bet. Boyd called and Ferguson folded. Boyd showed A 3 while the big blind held A 10 and scooped the pot. Boyd was left with just 1575 in chips.
Boyd had earlier climbed to 4,625 in chips when after a flop of K Q 6 , he connected for a set when the 10 hit on the turn.
Schwartz Happy wtih Split Pot
Ylon Schwartz had just 175 remaining in chips after all the betting was completed in a three-way pot on a board of A 8 8 4 3 . Schwartz looked at his opponent nervously and asked "you have pocket fours?" The player showed ace-king, and Schwartz did the same with A K and both swept in 3,600 in chips.
Tomko Rebounds
Dewey Tomko was down to just 1600 in chips after a series of pre-flop raises that resulted in a short-stacked opponent being all-in. "Well at least I can say I was knocked out by you," said the player, who flipped over Q Q . Tomko was behind however, with pocket eights, and the suspense ended with a flop of Q 9 9 . The J on the turn and K on the river ended things. Tomko would later rebound however and now sits at 3,400.
Bloch Spilling Chips
Bloch was in the big blind when the player under-the-gun raised. Bloch went to 600, was reraised to 800, then capped betting at 1000 with the initial raiser holding just 175 in chips. The flop came J 9 9 and the remaining chips were centered. Bloch held Q Q while his opponent held J 10 . But the J on the turn filled the opponent.
The very next hand it was the same two players at it again, part of a three-way pot for 600 each. The flop came A 7 6 and all three committed another 400. After the J on the turn, Bloch called another bet, and the 9 came on the river. The big blind bet and Bloch folded, showing 5 4 for an open-ended straight and flush draw, while the big blind showed J J for a set hit on the turn. Bloch was suddenly down to 4,100 in chips.
Brenes Being Patient
Humberto Brenes, sitting with just 2,300 in chips, was in the big blind for 200 when it was raised to 400 and three players called. Refusing to make it a five-way pot, Brenes folded.
Elizabeth Still Alive
Shannon Elizabeth began the level with just 1800 in chips, but had the blinds fold to her in the first hand when play resumed, and she has since doubled up.

Both players checked the 3 on the turn, and after Lindgren checked the 10 river McGhee bet out 1,200 and Lindgren folded. Lindgren is still very much alive with around 27,500 in chips.
Schneider Claims Another Tournament Life
The short stack at Tom Schneider's table was in the blinds and forced to put his remaining chips in with 6 4 . Schneider called from the button and showed Q 10 . The board came J-10-7-7-4 and Day 2's first elimination was in the books. Schneider ad around after the win.
Not The Ideal Start To The Day, Flush Over Flush
On a Q J 2 A Q board, Greg Monaldi bet and Marco Traniello raised. Monaldi called and Traniello confidently showed 5 3 for a riverd flush, but Monaldi showed 10 9 for a better flush. The loss took Traniello down, but he has since battled back up to around 34,400.
Tomko Nearly Doubles, But Remains Low On Chips
On a J 10 7 flop, Dewey Tomko bet and was called by his opponent. Both players checked the 5 turn and when the A came on the river Tomko bet 1,200, leaving himself just 100 behind. His opponent called and Tomko showed A 8 for a pair of aces and his opponent shook his head and mucked. Tomko has around 8,000 at the end of the level.

After the button raised in the limit round, David "Devilfish" Ulliot called from the small blind and Hellmuth called from the big blind. On the Q 8 6 flop, Ulliot checked and Hellmuth bet. The original button raised folded, and Ulliot exposed the A 9 before mucking. Hellmuth showed the Q .
A Missed Draw Good For the Pot Against Deeb
After raising from middle position, Freddy Deeb was called by a late position opponent and Tony Licastro from the big blind. Licastro checked the K 8 7 flop. Deeb bet, and was called by both the late position opponent and Licastro. The 6 on the turn caused a nearly identical round of action. Licastro checked, Deeb bet, the remaining opponent called, and Licastro released his hand. Both remaining players checked the 3 on the river. The player in late position turned over the J T for a missed two-way draw. However, Deeb showed the J and mucked his other card, not able to beat jack-ten high.
High Action Among Top Pros
On yet another star-studded table, Richard "Quiet Lion" Brodie raised from the button and was called by both Ryan Young in the small blind and Roy Winston in the big blind. All three checked a flop of A 9 8 . Young led out on the 6 turn and was raised by Winston, prompting Brodie to fold. Young made the call, and the J river was dealt. Young checked, Winston bet, and Young folded.
Tomko Slowly Accumulating Chips Despite Defecit
After the player under-the-gun raised, Dewey Tomko flat called from middle position. The two took the T 9 6 flop heads-up. The raiser checked, Tomko bet, and his opponent folded. Tomko now has slightly over 8,000.
Unabomber Releases Hand, Has it Massaged
Phil Laak took a break from his hand massage to raise from the button. He was called by an opponent in the big blind. The two saw a 7 6 2 flop. The player first to act checked, Laak bet, and was called. The 7 on the turn yielded checks from both players. The first opponent bet out on the A river, and Laak folded.
Jennifer Harman Cracks the Nut Flush
Jennifer Harman won a large pot by catching board-pairing T to fill up her set of 4s. Her opponent had flopped the nut flush. After dragging the pot, she has over 15,000 in chips.

After calling a raise in the big blind from a middle position player, Allen Cunningham checked a J T 6 flop. His opponent bet, and he called. The 4 on the turn caused Cunningham to bet, and his opponent elected to fold. The pot boosted Allen’s stack to just under 15,000.
Hoyt Corkins Remains Aggressive
Hoyt Corkins accumulated a total stack of over 10,000 in chips by utilizing his aggressive style during the limit round. On one hand, Corkins raised pre-flop from early position and was flat called by the opponent on his left. The two players saw a flop of 6 4 3 . Corkins bet, his opponent raised, Corkins reraised, and his opponent finally called. Hoyt followed through by betting the K on the turn, generating a fold from his opponent.
E-Dog Stays Healthy
Erick Lindgren took down a pot worth over 1,000 in the final minutes of the last no limit round by snapping his opponents’ bluff on a board of K Q 9 3 2 . Lindgren flipped over the A Q and his opponent mucked his A J face up. Lindgren now has over 10,000 in chips.
Cory Carroll and Andrew Robl
During the second level of limit play, Cory Carroll raised from the cutoff and was re-raised by Andrew Robl on the button. Carroll called, and the dealer laid out a flop of 6 8 9 . Carroll checked, Robl bet, Carroll check-raised, Robl three-bet, Carroll four-bet to a total of 800, and Robl called. The turn brought the K , Carroll bet 400, Robl raised him yet again, and Carroll called. The 5 appeared on the river, and once again Carroll led out only to be raised by Robl. Carroll called, and Robl flipped over A 7 . Carroll mucked, and Robl takes down a juicy pot.
The Takeover Begins
Nick “The Takeover” Schulman recently joined table 1, joining Vanessa Russou, David Chu and John Hennigan. It took little time before Schulman and Rousso tangled. On a board of K 9 8 , Rousso checked to Schulman, who tossed a purple 500 chip across the line. Rousso folded, leaving her with over 12,500. After that hand, Schulman had just under 10,000.
Table 24 Remains Tough
Dewey Tomko has taken Daniel Negreanu’s spot next to Bill Edler, Isabelle Mercier, and Doyle Brunson.
The Magician Makes Some Chips Disappear
In the big blind, Antonio Esfandiari called a pre-flop raise from a middle position player. The flop was J 10 8 , prompting Esfandiari to bet and be raised all in by the initial aggressor. Esfandiari called with Q J , having his opponent well covered. His opponent flipped up two black kings, and the 7 turn, 5 river failed to improve Esfandiari. He now has just over 5,000 in chips.
Jeff Madsen Gets Caught
Facing a raise to 325 from the button during the no limit round, Jeff Madsen opted to defend his big blind. Both players checked the J 6 7 flop, but Madsen led out with 450 on the 9 turn. His opponent raised an additional 700, and Madsen called. The river brought the 8 . Madsen fired 2,300, and his opponent called. Madsen announced that he had missed his draw and turned over the A 9 . His opponent revealed his 8 5 , and his straight was good for the pot.

J.C. Tran Doubles Up Early
JC Tran got it all with an oppontent, on a flop of Q J 2 . After Tran bet, his opponent raised, and Tran moved in for all his chips. His opponent called, showing A Q , far behind Tran's Q J . The turn and river came blank blank, and Tran is healthy early.
Bill Gazes Falls, But Climbs Back
On a board of 9 6 2 , both Bill Gazes and Dan Adams checked. The 4 on the turn induced a bet of 400 from Gazes. Adams called and the pot was at 1,400. The 4 on the river was checked by both players and Adams showed 8 8 , taking the pot. Gazes mucked and is sitting with around 2,200.
Later, Gazes raised on the button to 125 was called by seat 4. The flop came A 10 6 and Gazes bet 225 and was called. The turn was the K and Gazes bet 525. Seat 4 raised to 1,500 total and Gazes called all in, showing 10 8 for the flush, and his opponent showed A 5 . The river was the 10 and Gazes doubled to over 4,000.
Sklansky Down But Not Out, Seidel Up
After a middle position opponent raised to 150, David Sklanksy called on his button. After the raiser fired again after a flop of Q 9 4 , Sklansky mucked his hand.
A few hands later, Sklansky pushed his final 675 in on a board that showed A J 8 J and his opponent folded. Sklansky sits with around half of his starting stack, with 1,500 in chips
Less than ten feet away, Erik Seidel was quietly taking down his second medium-sized pot, this time betting 275 on a flop of J 6 4 , drawing no callers and adding to a chip stack that already surpasses 4,000.
Doug Lee And Andy Bloch Moving in Different Directions
Seated together, Doug Lee and Andy Bloch are getting plenty of action. Lee moved all in on a flop of 10 8 5 and was called by one player, who flipped over A 10 . Lee showed Q Q . The turn and river came 6 4 and Lee doubled up to nearly 7,000 and his opponent was left crippled.
With the board showing Q 4 3 6 , seat 7 bet 400 and Lee raised up to 1,100 and seat 7 called. The 6 came on the river and Lee bet 1,600 putting his opponent all in. Seat 7 called and showed K-Q for top two pair and Lee turned over 3 6 for a full house and further increased his stack.
Andy Bloch took a hard hit when player in middle position raised to 175 and Andy Bloch called from the small blind. The flop came 6 2 2 , Bloch checked and his opponent bet 300. Bloch check-raised to 1,500 and his opponent moved all in. Bloch made the call and showed 8 8 and was behind his opponent's A A . The turn and river came 3 3 and Bloch was left crippled with around 550 in chips.
Dewey Tomko Busts Two Opponents
On a board of 4-3-2, Tomko had two players all in with only 50 left behind. He showed A-A and the board did not improve his opponents' hands and Tomko nearly trippled up to around 5,300.
Haxton's Makes Great Read and Gets Eliminated
After his opponent bet 250 on a board of J 7 2 , Haxton raised to 750. His opponent wasted little time in coming over the top for the size of the pot, another 1850 that threatened to put Haxton most of the way in. Looking pained and uncomfortable, Haxton tanked for more than three minutes before reraising all in for a token 500 more. "I think you have a flush draw," muttered Haxton, turning over A K to the amazement of the table. His read was perfect--his opponent indeed held A 6 --but the 8 on the turn had him drawing dead and heading for the exit.
Flack Gets Crippled
Layne Flack limped from early position, the small blind raised to 150 and Flack called. The flop came 9 6 3 . The small blind bet 300 and Flack called. The turn brought the 5 , his opponent fired out a 1,000 bet and Flack called. The river was the 8 and his opponent bet 1,500. Flack deliberated for several minutes before calling. His opponent showed A A and Flack mucked his hand. He busted a few hands later.

Dutch Boyd is now sitting at Joe Sebok's table.
Andy Bloch is seated with Doug Lee. At 12:40 Jennifer Tilly joined their table.

With a board of J 10 9 7 6 , Jeff Madsen bet 1,050 on the river,
leaving himself with only 700 remaining chips. The player seated
directly to his left tanked for a few minutes before folding. Madsen

A few hands later Madsen got all in preflop for 3,200 and was called

with a board of A Q 7 5 6 , Madsen was eliminated.
Dewey Tomko Doubles Up
On a board of Q 10 9 , Dewey Tomko bet 1,300 and got one caller. The
turn brought the 7 and Tomko got his money all against his opponent who showed A A . Tomko flipped over K 2 for the flush. His opponent needed a heart for a higher flush, but the 7 fell on the river and Tomko doubled to around 6,000.
Phil Ivey Falls Off
Within a matter of just a few short hands, Phil Ivey fell from the top of the leader board with almost 15,000 to just over 3,000 after doubling up two of his opponents.
On flop of 10 8 7 , Phil Ivey bet 1,500 and the player in seat 7 moved all in for a few thousand more. Ivey called and showed A 10 for top pair but Seat 7 turned over 9 9 for middle pair and an open-ended straight draw. Seat 8 made a jack-high straight on the turn with the J , and the K hit the river. Seat 8 doubleed through Ivey, who at that point was down to 7,000 in chips.
Men "The Master" Nguyen Doubles Through Phil Ivey
Men Nguyen came in for a raise from late position and Phil Ivey called from the big blind. The flop came 8 3 2 , and Nguyen bet 800. Ivey raises to 2,000, and Nguyen moved all in for 1,100 more. Ivey called with A 8 (top pair, top kicker), but Nguyen was holding Q Q for the overpair. The turn and river brought the 9 and the 4 , no help to Ivey who was suddenly down to his last 3,500. After that hand, Nguyen moved up to almost 9,000 in chips.

Hour Three
Jun 24, '07
Razzle Dazzle
Level three was reached and the tournament was now on the first level of razz.
Greatest Preliminary Day Table Ever
Todd Brunson took the vacant seat eight at table 16 and joined Kirk Morrison, Ali Eslami, David Singer, T.J. Cloutier, Mike Sexton, Dewey Tomko, and Phil Ivey. This table had no weak link now, and is arguably the greatest table during a preliminary day in tournament poker history.
Razzed
Brunson got involved in a hand with Singer during the razz level, and Brunson had 5 3 4 3 exposed when he fired out $1,600 on sixth street. Singer made the call and both players were dealt their final hole card. Brunson fired out another $1,600 and once again Singer called. Brunson then turned up his hole cards, 7 6 4 , and Singer mucked.
Tournament Announcements
It was then announced that the tournament will play 15 levels on day one and the players would be sent to dinner at 7 p.m. The tournament staff said they will do their best to stick to this schedule throughout the five day event, speed of play permitting.
Hellmuth Sighting
Phil Hellmuth showed up in his usual style, making a fashionably late appearance. He took his seat right next to David Benyamine at table 13. The table also featured Jason Lester and John Hennigan.
Perry vs. Antonius
With 2 4 K 6 exposed Patrik Antonius fired out $1,600 on seventh street and Ralph Perry reached for his chips with 6 7 9 K exposed. The second Perry made a move toward his chips Antonius instantly mucked his hand.
Stud
It was now level four and the game was seven card stud.
I’m Not Your Huckleberry
Tom Schneider bet $1,600 on sixth street with 3 6 9 5 exposed and Huck Seed mucked with 7 4 J 10 out on the table. There had been a lot of action on this hand, including a $3,200 reraise from Schneider on fifth street, so Huck mucked with a bit of apprehension. Seat five called Schneider down to the end and he flipped up 6 3 3 . Seat five mucked.
Perry vs. Antonius – Part II
Antonius and Perry were at it again and they raised and reraised on fifth street, and sixth street. They both checked seventh street and Antonius flipped up 7 7 (J 7 6 J ) 4 . Perry had Q 10 J 10 exposed and he revealed a single queen before he turned the rest of his cards over and mucked.
We Three Kings…
Dewey Tomko bet $1,600 on fifth street and Phil Ivey mucked. Ali Eslami made the call and T.J. Cloutier mucked before sixth street. Tomko led out on both remaining streets and Eslami called. With the 5 3 5 Q exposed, Tomko flipped up three kings in the hole. Eslami then mucked his hand.
Break Time
After the first stud level expired the players went on a fifteen minute break. When they returned it was for the first seven card stud eight-or-better round.

Chop-Chop
Those two words can sum up the entire level of Omaha eight-or-better. The two highlights were Dewey Tomko tripling up to survive, and both Mark Gregorich and Noah Jefferson doubling up to accomplish the same survival feat.
Razzed
The game then switched to razz, and the limits were steep at $20,000-$40,000.
Hellmuth Busted in 24th Place
Phil Hellmuth made a strong showing in the HORSE event, but his run came to an end when he ran into Kenny Tran early in the razz level. Tran had 6 3 (3 8 A 5 ) J turned up and Hellmuth peeked at his last hole card before mucking. He then walked away from the table and mused with himself about his demise.
Survival of the Fittest
The rest of razz was an exercise in stubbornness. Gregorich doubled up again. Toto Leonidas doubled up through Thor Hansen with 7 2 (6 4 10 3 ) 10 . The only sure thing during the last part of razz was that the short stacks prevailed. The game was then switched to seven-card stud, with the limits remaining the same.

Short Stacks vs. Negreanu pt. 1
During the stud level Thomas Woodruff was all in after three cards with a pair of fours against Daniel Negreanu's A K Q . By the end Negreanu had made a pair of kings, but Woodruff had hit a third four. The both squeezed out the seventh card, with Negreanu needing both a king and for Woodruff not to fill up. Negreanu's last card become irrelevant when Woodruff revealed the 4 for quads on the end. Despite the double up Woodruff is still on a very short stack
Short Stacks vs. Negreanu pt. 2
Dewey Tomko got all-in after four cards during the stud level against Daniel Negreanu. Negreanu had a pair of nines in the hole, while Tomko had made a pair of aces on fourth street. Negreanu hit a third nine on fifth street, but Tomko caught a third ace and ended up doubling off Negreanu to stay alive.
STUD EIGHT OR BETTER
Huge Pot
Eli Elezra took down a huge three way pot without a showdown on seventh street against Chip Reese and Mike Wattell. On fifth street Wattell lead out $20,000, Elezra raised to $40,000, and Reese called. The same betting went down on sixth street, meaning that $240,000 went into the pot on 5th and 6th street alone. After seventh Wattell checked, Elezra bet and Reese folded. Wattell thought for a moment before folding. Elezra smiled, and after a moment showed fives full as he rakes the pot.
Eliminations
Due to eliminations the tournament is down to its final six tables. Erick Lindgren eliminated Greg Mascio from the featured table with aces up. Cyndy Viollete busted during the stud level. David Sklansky and Michael Mizrachi were both eliminated from table 77.

Levels 54 and 55 - Razz and Seven-Card Stud
Jun 27, '07
After Dinner
The final minutes of the Omaha eight-or-better level were contested after the dinner break and not too much transpired.
Razz!
The game was then switched to razz as the threshold into level 53 was crossed.
Mark Gregorich Eliminated in 11th Place ($117,216)
John Hanson held 10-2-8-3 when Mark Gregorich moved all in on fourth street. Hanson called him down and then received 3-4-7 to eliminate Gregorich in 11th place. Gregorich took home $117,216 in prize money.
Dewey Tomko Eliminated in 10th Place ($131,424)
Dewey Tomko bet $100,000 and Amnon Filippi raised to $150,000. Tomko reraised all in for $160,000 and Filippi made the call. The remaining cards were dealt and on sixth street Tomko had 9-7-5-8-4-8 exposed. Filippi had 7-6-A-10-J-3 exposed. The final hole card was dealt to Filippi and he turned over a four to make a 7-6 low. Tomko was drawing dead and he exited the table. Tomko was eliminated in 10th place and he took home $131,424 in prize money.
Seven Card Stud
The game was then switched to seven card stud and the nine players who remained were keeping a close eye on each other. Kenny Tran made a trip to the table to the other table to check on the chip stacks of the other players. All the players at the featured table had more than $1.6 million. The towers of Gabe Kaplan and Bruno Fitoussi were looking a little low at the on-deck circle though. Tran passed the baton to Amnon Filippi and he began to check back and forth between the tables. This was ironic, considering that Filippi had the chip lead.

Short-Stack Survival
The short stacks continued to hang on by a thread, including Gabe Kaplan. He picked up a decent amount of chips to help his push to the final table when he picked up a pot off of Greg Raymer during seven-card stud eight-or-better. Raymer had 3 7 6 6 exposed and Kaplan had 2 A 9 9 exposed when he flipped up his hole cards (A Q 8 ).
Cashing Out Err….Color Up
“Pleasure playing with you guys, but I’m going to cash out,” said Freddy Deeb with a wide grin on his face. He had four racks of chips ready to go for when the color up would commence at the end of the level. The players went on a 20 minute break while this took place and they would continue play until the dinner break began at 7:30 p.m.
Back to Hold’em
The game jumped to hold’em when the players returned from the break.
Greg Raymer Busted in 14th Place ($103,008)
Greg Raymer was all in and covered by John Hanson preflop. Hanson turned over pocket eights and Raymer showed down A 7 . “I can’t lose, it’s my hand,” said Raymer in reference to Hanson’s two eights. The board suggested otherwise when it was rolled out 9 5 3 4 Q . Raymer was eliminated in 14th place and he took home $103,008 in prize money.
The Road to Omaha
The game was then switched to Omaha eight-or-better with $40,000-$80,000 limits.
Tim Phan Busted in 13th Place ($103,008)
Tim Phan bet $40,000 and both Gabe Kaplan and Freddy Deeb call. The flop was dealt J 8 7 and Deeb led out for $40,000 from the small blind. Phan called from middle position and Kaplan called on the button. The turn brought the 6 and Deeb led out again, this time for $80,000. Phan made the all-in call, and Kaplan called as well. The J on the river was checked by both players in the side pot and Deeb tunred up 10 9 8 4 for a straight. Kaplan revealed A K 4 3 to take the low and Phan mucked his hand. Phan was eliminated in 13th place and he took home $103,008 in prize money.
Down to a Dozen
There was now 12 players remaining and Bruno Fitoussi was moved back to the table he came from earlier in the day.
Steve Wolff Eliminated in 12th Place ($117,216)
On a flop of 10 3 2 Steve Wolff moved all in for his last $30,000 and Dewey Tomko made the call. Kenny Tran then raised to $80,000 total and Tomko called down that bet as well. Both players in the side pot checked the 10 on the turn. The river brought the A and Tomko bet $80,000. Tran called and flipped over 6 4 . Tomko turned up A-10 for aces full of tens and he took down the side pot and the main pot. Wolff mucked his hand and he was eliminated in 12th place. He took home $117,216 in prize money.

The players then went on dinner break at 7:30 p.m. and they will return at 9:00 p.m. to reach the final eight.

Levels 49 and 50 - Razz and Seven-Card Stud
Jun 27, '07
The Doldrums
Levels 49 and 50 featured razz and seven card stud. The two levels were noteworthy for the lack of action that took place, rather than the action that did play out. This is understandable considering the H.O.R.S.E. event is a limit affair, with split games thrown in to boot. The big stacks played a steady progression of pots, while the lower half of the field waited for their spots. Dewey Tomko was low on chips, as was John Hanson, and Steve Wolff. The stack of Gabe Kaplan had begun to falter as well.
Chris Reslock Eliminated in 15th Place
Chris Reslock moved all in for $42,000 and Amnon Filippi called him down. Reslock was then dealt two more kings, which made for three total, and effectively killed any razz hand he was working on. Filippi busted Reslock in 15th place with a 9-7 low. After the elimination of Reslock, Bruno Fitoussi was moved to the featured table to fill his empty seat. Each table now had seven players remaining.
Chip Leader: Amnon Filippi
One of the true tournament-trail grinders remained in the lead. Amnon Filippi held $2.5 million and he even tangled with the second-place chip stack of Kenny Tran ($1.9 million) in a few pots. Filippi won the majority of them.

Jun 27, '07
Double Up Dewey
The game switched to hold’em and on a board of J 5 2 2 Dewey Tomko moved all in. Amnon Filippi called. Filippi flipped up Q-5 and Tomko showed down pocket tens. The K was dealt on the river and Tomko survived with the stronger two pair.
Max Pescatori Eliminated in 19th Place
Max Pescatori was the next player to hit the rail in 19th place, just three spots shy of the money.
Bonomo Busts
On a board of K 5 4 A 5 Justin Bonomo is all in against Bruno Fitoussi. Bonomo turned up pocket sevens, but they were rendered obsolete when Fitoussi turned up pocket fours. Bonomo was eliminated in 17th place.
The Messenger
The clock was paused and play now went to hand for hand. The game had been switched to Omaha eight-or-better right after the Bonomo bust. The players now had a keen interest in where their fellow competitors stood. Johnny Chan served as the chip count relay man for the players, letting one table’s professionals know what the other contenders had left in front of them. “Man, that’s a bad information guy,” lamented Tim Phan in a half-sarcastic tone.
Bubble Boy – Noah Jefferson
Noah Jefferson had moved all in on the turn and Phan called him down. Phan revealed A Q 3 2 and Jefferson turned up A J 9 4 . The 7 joined the board of A Q 6 4 and Jefferson was eliminated in 17th place.
A Ray of Hope
Jefferson was told not to leave just yet after his bust out, because another player was all in on the same hand. That player was Steve Wolff, and if he were to bust, the two would split 16th-place money. These hoped were crushed though, when Wolff made quad kings on the turn. He beat out the quad sixes of David Singer, in a hand that only Omaha could produce.
A Pair of Hopeful Tables
There were now 16 players remaining and they redrew for seats at the final two tables:

The players were then sent to a 20 minute break and when they return the game will be razz.

Dinner Bell

Levels 47 and 48 - Hold'em and Omaha Eight-or-Better

Hour Three

STUD
Featured Tables
Day three of the H.O.R.S.E. got underway about 20 minutes after 2 p.m. Only 52 players remained on seven tables as play began. There were two featured tables, complete with hole-cams. Seated at the tables were:
1. Daniel Negreanu
2. Joe Tehan
3. David Singer
4. Dewey Tomko
6. David Oppenheim
7. Erik Seidel
8. Thomas Woodruff
1. Erick Lindgren
2. Tim Phan
3. Greg Mascio
4. Chip Reese
5. Mike Wattell
6. Eli Elezra

Into Dinner
Jun 27, '07

Series Home Game
Jun 20, '07
It’s a fun day for the professionals today in the Amazon Room. With a smaller field, most of the players who follow the tournament circuit will recognize more players at each table. The atmosphere today is like that of a home game, complete with bad calls, draw outs, and good-natured ribbing.
In today’s tournament there will be three levels of rebuys, which is one more level than usual in this type of rebuy tournament. This new development has no doubt given several pros an even better reason to straggle in late to today’s tournament. This is a frightening thought as some tables are excessively stacked with pro talent as it is. Almost every time you turn around, a table that had three big pros at it, all of the sudden has six.
Table 22 is one such example: They have been having fun from the get-go today. At 12pm precisely Robert Williamson III, Andy Bloch, and Erik Seidel were trading barbs already. In particular after about 30 minutes Seidel seemed to be getting the brunt of the abuse, already burning through several rebuys. The table was soon filled out with Dewey Tomko and David Williams, only fueling Williamson’s fire. Williamson doubled Tomko up early on a board of K-J-8-2-K. Williamson called his all-in raise saying, “Full house, but yours is better right?” Tomko then showed K-K-x-x, generating plenty of laughter; Williamson announced that he had 8-8-x-x.
Table 16 is another table that has kept the attitude light. Erick Lindgren, Clonie Gowen, and Eric Cajelas sat there at “tipoff, ” but were soon joined by Noah Boeken and Humberto Brenes. Lindgren complimented Brenes on his three final tables so far this year. Also having fun were the players at table 40. John D’Agostino, William Thorsson, Minh Ly, and Daniel Alaei make up the table. Early on D’Agostino made a pot-sized bet on the turn and threateningly got out rebuy chips to suggest he was fully committed to the hand, prompting Thorsson to fold. Thorsson simply told him, “Not yet.” A few hands later D’Agostino called Thorsson’s all-in bet with a gutshot straight and nut flush draw, against Thorsson’s fives and fours. “That’s a nice five,” D’Agostino remarked curtly, as the five on the turn closed off all of his outs.
We have recruited several terrific pros to follow in our Pro Blogs section. Stay tuned to CardPlayer.com for reports from Jordan Morgan, Sammy Farha, Rich Fuller, John D’Agostino, and Robert Williamson III.
