David Singer Eliminated
Sep 14, '08
Well, the action picked up just a bit a few moments ago when David Singer was eliminated.
Singer got all of his chips in on an A-5-3-3 board against his opponent. Singer showed 4-3 for trips with a gutshot straight draw, but he was already drawing dead to his opponent's A-3.
The river improved both players when another ace hit, but it wasn't enough to keep Singer from the rail.

Meet Your Chipleader
Jul 11, '08
With over 130,000 in chips, poker professional David Singer is your current chipleader.
Singer had quite the World Series of Poker, having won his first gold bracelet in a $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event, and more importantly, Singer and his girlfriend were blessed with their first child. Singer finished his summer with five WSOP cashes and another final table in addition to his win, but he's clearly looking to cap that off with a win here at the Bellagio.

Big Hands and Storylines:
Sklansky Clings to Life
It’s been a slow day for David Sklansky, and it hasn’t picked up any steam in the final level. He has been hovering around the 10,000 chip count for the past few hours, and couldn’t do anything with his blinds in a recent rotation. As big blind, he saw a player in middle position raise to 1050. Sklansky, already in for 400, made the call. After the flop came J 8 7 , he folded to a bet of 1,550. He then limped for another 400 the next hand as small blind, but dodged out of the way when the flop came 5 3 2 . As it turned out, a player pushed all-in with the Q 9 , was called by a set of fives, then the board ran out J A for the running flush. Sklansky then folded his button and now sits at 9,500.
Binger and Singer in a Zinger of a Humdinger
In the blue section of the Amazon Room, one table became particularly stacked when Card Player P.O.Y. contender Michael Binger joined 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet winner David Singer’s table. The media hovered close by to capture any and all action between the two notable players. In one hand, Binger raised to a total of 1,100 from under the gun, and Singer called as the player next to act. All other players folded, and the flop came down 8 6 5 . Binger continued his aggression by firing a bet of 1,800 into the pot, causing Singer to release his hand. Singer remained one of the tournament’s largest stacks with over 100,000 in chips, while Binger hovered around 35,000 throughout most of the level.
Jacob turns trips and collects more chips
With the board A Q J J , Alex Jacob bet 2,100 and was called immediately by his opponent. The river was the 7 and Jacob bet 4,600. This time his opponent took a moment to think it over. but he made the call in the end, and Jacob flipped over J 10 to take the pot. After the hand Jacob has roughly 20,000 chips.
Awada dodges disaster
With the board 8 7 2 , Joe Awada raised his opponent's bet of 2,000 to 5,000. His opponent reraised all in, and Awada was clearly frustrated with his situation. He folded J 8 and after initially hesitating his opponent flipped over 8 8 . But he can't feel too good about his fold; Awada has just 12,000 chips and is at risk of elimination any time he plays a hand.
When You're Hot . . .
A player in late position raised to 1200 and Brad Booth, on the button, made the call, as did the big blind. The flop came Q J 9 , and after the first two players checked Booth fired out 3500. The big blind called and the original raiser folded. The 3 fell on the turn, and the big blind checked. Booth, perhaps sensing a trap, checked behind. The river was the 10 , creating a four-card straight on board. The big blind checked and Booth bet 5000. The big blind, obviously frustrated by the river, called and flipped over J J for a set. That was suddenly in second place however, as Booth held 8 7 for the bottom end straight.

Jacob Under the Heat
The table featuring both Alex Jacob and Clonie Gowen is the next due to be broken in the main event, and it can’t come soon enough for Jacob, now down to below 10,000 in chips. After folding both his blinds and the button in the face of raises, Jacob was finally one from the cut-off when he opened the proceedings for 1100. The button called, and that may have persuaded both the small blind and big blind to also look Jacob up. The flop came K J 5 , and after both blinds checked Jacob bet 2000 into the pot. The button folded, as did the small blind, but the big blind check-raised all-in, which would have cost Jacob another 5000. With only 8500 in chips remaining, Jacob laid his hand down.
While, Jacob may be happy to change tables, Gowen is likely to be disappointed as she has profited from the situation. As well, David Baker is also sorry to move along, having amassed 145,000 in chips from the current arrangement.
Nenad's Kings Dead, Still Way Ahead
After taking a break from his solitaire game on his iPod, Nenad Medic raised to 1,200 from middle position. The player next to act reraised to a total of 3,800, and the action folded around back to Medic. Without delay, Medic tossed enough orange 5,000 chips into the pot to put his opponent all in. His opponent went into the tank, voicing his concern over the strength of Medic’s hand. After several minutes, the player made the call and Medic flipped over K K . “That’s what I thought,” his opponent said as he turned over A Q . The Q J 7 flop brought some hope for the player, and the A on the turn was just enough to overtake the kings. The 4 on the river failed to improve Medic, and he paid off his opponent to the tune of 6,900 in chips. Despite the loss, Medic still had over 60,000 in chips during the level.
Board allows Mahmood to take away pot
Ayaz Mahmood raised to 1,500 from early position and a player reraised to 3,000. Mahmood called and checked in the dark on the flop. The flop came A 7 3 and the preflop reraiser checked. The 4 came on the turn and Mahmood bet 4,000. His opponent called and the river was the 4 . Mahmood now bet 6,000 and his opponent folded K K face up. Mahmood flashed the K and took down the pot.
Singer takes a hit
David Singer limped into the pot from middle position and saw the flop with both blinds. The flop came A 9 7 and a woman in the small blind bet out 700. The big blind folded and Singer made the call. The turn was the T and she bet 1,200. This time Singer raised to 3,600. She called, and when the river came the 8 she bet out 5,000. Singer thought it over for a couple minutes and ultimately made the call. His opponent flipped over Q J and took down the pot. The small hit to Singer's stack dropped him to around 100,000 chips.
Overbet puts Mercier to the test
Following a flop of A 7 6 Isabelle Mercier bet 1,850 and was raised to 4,000. She made the call and the turn was the J . She checked and her opponent moved all in for 18,025, roughly twice as much as was in the pot. The odd bet had Mercier frustrated, and her opponent -- who had pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head and ducked his head down to completely hide -- was offering no clues. Ultimately she folded her hand and opted not to risk any of her remaining 35,000 chips.
Sklansky gets some breathing room
After a player in middle position limped into the pot David Sklansky raised to 1,500. The limper called and the players saw a T 8 2 flop. After his opponent checked, Sklansky moved all in for 8,800 and took down the pot. After the hand he had just under 13,000 chips, about one-third of the average at this point.

Day 1C Players Remaining: 1,251 out of 1,928
Recent Eliminations: Amit Makhija, Jeffrey Lisandro, Kirk Morrison, Bryan Devonshire.
Big Hands and Storylines:
Makhija Busts Out
Amit Makhija was nursing a shortstack, but appeared on the verge of successfully staving off his elimination midway through the second hour of level 4. It all ended when his flopped two pair ran into a straight.
Just previously, Makhija held only 5425 in chips when he was the big blind. Play was folded to the button who raised to 900, and Makhija had enough chips to scare off his opponent with an all-in. The move brought him to 6650 in chips. Then two hands later as the button, Makhija watched as the player in the cut-off put in an initial raise to 725. Again Makhija pushed all-in, and again his opponent folded in the face of the move.
The next hand spelled his doom, however. From the cut-off Makhija raised to 900, and the big blind was the lone caller. The flop came A Q J , the big blind checked, and Makhija bet 1200. The big blind called the bet, and together they saw the 9 hit the turn. The big blind checked, Makhija bet 3200, and the big blind then check-raised to put Makhija all-in. Makhija made the instant call, showing A Q . But the big blind had filled his straight, holding 10 8 . Needing an ace or queen on the river to stay alive, Makhija saw the 3 come down and end his main event.
Lisandro Loves His Luck, Later Loses
Despite patiently nursing a short stack throughout most of the level, Jeffrey Lisandro ultimately ended up with a one-way ticket to the rail after a successful double up. Lisandro first got it all in with 4 4 for his last 2,800 against his opponent’s Q J . The flop was beautiful for Lisandro, bringing J 10 4 . The 2 on the turn had his opponent drawing dead, and Lisandro collected his chips.
Within two hands, Lisandro again got his chips back into the middle against the same opponent, this time while holding AsQs against his opponent’s K K . The flop brought another set with K 5 4 , and the 8 on the turn this time had Lisandro drawing dead. Lisandro made his exit.
Moneymaker drops some chips, but going strong
With the board Q 5 5 K 8 , Chris Moneymaker and his opponent both checked. His opponent flipped over A 8 and Moneyaker mucked. The pot had just a few thousand in it, and Moneymaker currently has around 70,000 chips.
Gowen's small bluff fails
With the board A 9 8 4 8 , Clonie Gowen bet 3,000 and her opponent called. Gowen immediately mucked her hand, and though he didn't need to her opponent showed A 7 . After the hand Gowen was up to 60,000 chips.
Devonshire out, Mattern takes chip lead
On a T 8 6 flop, a series of back-and-forth raises ends with Bryan Devonshire all in and Arnaud Mattern right there with him in a monster pot. They both hold 9-7, but Mattern's cards are spades giving him a flush draw. And what do you know -- it made a difference. After the A on the turn, the A came on the river to give Mattern the pot and give him 155,000 chips.
Don’t Mess with Singer
A player in middle position raised to 1000 and David Singer, one of the chip leaders of the day, called from the button, as did the big blind. The flop came K Q 2 , the big blind checked, and the original raiser bet out 1600. Singer made the call and the big blind folded. The J hit the turn and his opponent came out for 2500. Singer then put in a reraise to 7000. His opponent then mucked his hand.
Boredom for some
It's the main event and there are millions at stake, but for some players the slow pace of play creates the need for distractions. Nenad Medic has been playing solitare on his ipod and David Benefield has been reading a book. But it looks like they're also playing some good poker when the time calls for it; Medic and Benefield have 90,000 and 60,000 chips, respectively.

Gowen Adds to Stack
Clonie Gowen was one from the cut-off position and facing a raise to 800. She reraised things to 2300, both blinds folded, and the initial raiser called. The flop came 7 7 5 , the original bettor checked and Gowen bet 2600. She was called, and the 10 came on the turn. Another check-call followed with Gowen sliding out 4500 in chips. The Q fell on the river, and with play checked to her again Gowen bet 5700. That was enough to take the pot down uncontested.
Lisandro crippled
With the board A J 7 6 , Jeffrey Lisandro checked and his opponent directly to his left bet 1,000. It was a small bet compared to the size of the pot, and Lisandro raised to 4,000. His opponent called, and when the 8 came on the turn he bet 5,000. His opponent asked to see how many chips Lisandro had left. He got a look and then raised to 11,000. Lisandro leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms. After a minute he called and his opponent showed 7 7 for a set and the pot. After the hand Lisandro had just 2,500 chips.
Singer on fire, over 100k
With the board K 9 6 4 8 , David Singer bet out 9,000 and was called. He flipped over A 3 and his opponent shook his head and turned over 6 6 for a set. Singer collected the sizable pot and after the hand had over 100,000 chips.
Evelyn Ng Takes Wing
Evelyn Ng continued to accumulate chips by eliminating opponents. In one hand during the fourth level, Ng put her opponent all in pre-flop while holding pocket tens. Her opponent made the call and turned over pocket sixes, making Ng a large favorite. As the cameras rushed over to capture the moment, the dealer put out a board that offered no improvement to the sixes. Ng took the pot, bringing her chip stack to over 50,000.

Eliminations: Gavin Griffin, Dmitri Nobles, Vivek Rajkumar, Scott Seiver
Big Hands:
Griffin Gone
A player raised to 1,200 from late position and Gavin Griffin pushed his final 3,550 into the pot. The player called and showed K K , having Griffin in a world of hurt as he showed 6 6 . Any possible flush Griffin could hit would not save him as his opponent had those draws covered. Griffin needed to hit some kind of a straight or a one of the two remaining sixes. The board ran out Q 10 3 9 4 and Griffin's main event was over.
Brad Booth Picks Up Aces
Three players limped to Booth who made it 1,500 to go. One limper folded and the second called. Marcel Luske was the third limper and called as well. The flop came 8 8 6 and everyone checked. When the 3 came on the turn, action was checked to Booth who fired 1,700. He was called by seat 2 and Luske got out of the way. Seat 2 checked in the dark and the 5 came on the river. Booth bet 2,500 and was called. He showed A A and his opponent mucked. Booth took a pot worth 7,500 and increased his stack to about 72,000.
Gowen Needs No Showdown
On a board of 10 10 3 , Alex Jacob checked, Clonie Gowen checked and the player in seat 3 fired 750. Jacob folded and Gowen made the call. The turn was the Q and Gowen led out with a bet of 2,500. Seat 3 made the call and the 5 fell on the river. Gowen bet 4,500 and seat 3 shook his head, mucking his hand as he lost a third of his stack in the hand. Gowen took the pot without a showdown and was nearing 70,000 in chips.
Luske Runs Into Kings
On a flop of Q 6 3 , seat 2 checked to Marcel Luske, who bet 1,000. Seat 2 made the call and the 6 came on the turn. Seat 2 checked to Luske again and "The Flying Dutchman" fired 2,000. Seat 2 made the call and both players checked the 8 on the river. Seat 2 rolled over K K and Luske quickly mucked.
Madsen With a Gutshot
In a three-way limped pot, the flop came down A Q 3 . Madsen bet 1,000 from the button and only one player made the call. The turn was the 4 and Madsen's opponent checked. Madsen then bet 2,500, which his opponent called. The K fell on the river and Madsen fired 5,600 into the pot. His opponent called again and Madsen showed J 10 for a broadway straight on the river. Madsen was up to about 85,000.
Singer Bluffed For All to See
On a board of Q Q 4 J , the player in seat 3 bet 800 and David Singer made the call. The 10 came on the river and seat 3 bet 1,600. Singer thought about a call, but mucked his hand as camera crews looked on. Seat 3 showed A 2 for a whole lot of nothing and said that he only bluffed Singer because the cameras were around.
Full House v.s. Flush, Ng Doubles
With 9 9 3 8 on the board Evelyn Ng bet 2,500 and was check-raised to 7,500. Ng elected to just call and the J came on the river. After her opponent bet 6,000, Ng moved all in for 9,125 total and was called by her opponent, who held the A K for the rivered nut flush. However, Ng held J J for a rivered full house to take down the large pot, boosting her stack to 50,000.
Dmitri Nobles Busts
Nobles was all in on a board showing Q 10 5 A 2 . Nobles held A K , but it was second best to his opponent's 10 10 . Nobles' opponent apologized for knocking him out, but it was little consolation to Nobles as he made his way toward the exit.

David Singer Chips Up
Action folded around to David Singer who raised to 600 from the button and got one caller from the big blind. The flop came K 8 7 , and the big blind checked to Singer who bet 1,000. The big blind called and the turn was the 2 . Once again the big blind checked to Singer who this time bet 2,000. The big blind called and the river was the 2 . Both players checked the river and exposed their cards in order. The big Blind turned over 6 5 for a busted straight draw and Singer showed K 10 for top pair. Singer raked the pot, bringing his chip count up to 35,000.
Don't Play With Sam Farha
Sam Farha limped into a pot from early position. The player in the cutoff raised to 800, folding action back around to Farha, who made the call. Both players checked the flop, which read Q 4 2 . The turn brought the Q , and Farha started applying pressure, firing a bet of 1,000. Farha's opponent seemed unwilling to play a pot with Sammy on such a coordinated board, folding his hand. Farha moved up to 33,400 after the hand.
The Trouble With Being Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker started his Main Event today, and is already having some trouble dealing with the target on his back. Early in the level, Moneymaker raised from middle position to 600. He was called by only one player on the button. Moneymaker led out for another 700 on the flop, which came J 8 5 . His opponent made the call. Moneymaker then checked on the turn of Q before calling his opponent's bet of 2,000. The 6 fell on the river, and Moneymaker checked once again, only to fold to his opponent's river bet of 5,000. Moneymaker is still up for the day, however, sitting behind around 24,000.

Big Hands:
"The Goofball Beat Me, Honey!"
Phil Hellmuth raised to 4,000 under the gun and the player in seat 5 made the call. The flop came Q 5 5 and Hellmuth checked, letting seat 5 bet 7,000. Hellmuth called and again checked when the 5 hit on the turn. Seat 5 bet 10,000 and Hellmuth removed his shades and studied the board and his opponent. After asking his opponent how much he had left, Hellmuth just called. The 10 fell on the river and seat 5 pushed all in for about 40,000. "Okay buddy, you win this one," Hellmuth said as he mucked his hand. "My turn next time, okay?"
But it wasn't okay with the layer in seat 5. Two hands later Hellmuth bet 7,500 on a flop of K 5 3 and only seat 5 made the call. The A hit on the turn and Hellmuth led out for 13,000. Seat 5 announced he was all in and Hellmuth was stunned. He mucked and jumped from his seat to talk to his wife.
"The goofball beat me, honey!" he said to her. "He might be the worst player here by far."
But Hellmuth's confidence was still not shaken as he said, "I want to tell you something. He's going to be drawing dead against me in the next 10 minutes."
Chan Doubles, Demands Micon Gets His Drink
Johnny Chan raised to 4,600 from late position and was called by the big blind. The flop was J 8 2 and the big blind led out for 11,000. Chan reached to his stack and re-raised, making it 26,000 more to go. The big blind wasted little time pushing all in, having Chan covered by around 12,000. Chan made the call and was all in for his tournament life. The big blind flipped up J J for top set and was in the lead. But Chan showed J 9 and was far from drawing dead. The turn brought the 6 to complete Chan's flush and the A completed the board, making Chan's flush the best hand and giving him reason to pump his fist as he doubled up to 180,000.
The table is an interesting one - featuring Chan, Bryan Micon and Shawn Sheikhan. After doubling up and cripping his opponent, Chan yelled "Get this man a drink!" The playful demand was in reference to Micon, who has been nursing his short stack and calling for a cocktail waitress for a while.
Suck & Re-Suck: Chris Grigorian Doubles Through David Singer
On a flop of A 7 5 , David Singer bet 6,000 and Chris Grgorian made the call. The turn was the A , and this time Singer led out with 15,000. Grigorian made the call and the river was the Q . Singer bet 30,000 and Grigorian quickly moved all in. Singer called just as quick and turned over A 7 for a full house (aces full of sevens). Singer flopped top two pair and turned the full house. Grigorian showed A Q for a better full house (aces full of queens) on the river. Singer fell down to 42,000 in chips while "The Armenian Express" brought himself up over 100,000 this hand. Singer would bust later in the level.
Clements Tries to Defend, But Can't Connect
The player in seat 7 raised to 4,600 from the button and Scott Clements repopped to 10,200 from the small blind. Seat 7 made the call and the flop came down K J 6 and Clements blasted 20,000 into the pot. Seat 7 went nowhere, however, making the call. Both players checked the 2 on the turn and the river brought the 3 . Both players checked again and Clements announced, "Ace high." Seat 7 turned over Q J for second pair and took a good sized pot. Clements was down to about 72,000.
THAY3R Gets Love From The Ladies
Thayer "THAY3R" Rasmussen called a short stack's all in bet and flipped over Q Q . The all in player showed A J and had one over-card. The board ran 9 8 2 4 8 and Rasmussen knocked out another player while increasing his stack to around 110,000.
Don't Mess With Evelyn's Big Blind
The player in seat 8 raised to 3,300 from the button and Evelyn Ng repopped to 9,300 from the big blind. The button made the call and the flop came down K 2 6 and Ng fired 14,000. Seat 8 nodded his head, signaling it was too much to call and folded his hand. Ng took the pot and increased her stack to a very healthy 176,000.
Micon Pushes Back, Then Gets Pushed Out
Shawn Sheikhan raised to 4,500 and Johnny Chan folded his hand from the small blind. Micon was next to act in the big blind and, after pump faking a fold, decided to push all in for 17,400 more. Sheikhan decided to muck his hand and Micon added some chips to his short stack. He was at 23,100 while Sheikhan was at 131,500. Micon would not last, however, as he would go bust later in the level.
Matusow Takes a Pot
Mike Matusow raised to 3,800 from under the gun. The player in seat 2 called from the button and the two players were heads up going to the flop. "It's just me and the other human card rack," Matusow said before the flop of J 9 3 hit the felt. Matusow then led out with 6,400 and seat 2 quickly mucked. Matusow then showed his Q Q and raked in the pot. He was around 70,000.

$10,000 Main Event - Day 2B - Level 8
Jul 09, '08
Blinds: 400-800, 100 ante
Eliminations:
Matt Hawrilenko
Big Hands and Storylines:
Matt Hawrilenko Eliminated
Action folded around to Ross Smith who raised it up from the button. Matt Hawrilenko, who had about 23,000 to start, 3-bet from the small blind. After a bit of thought, Smith, having Hawrilenko covered, moved all-in. Hawrilenko quickly called and the two showed their hands:
Smith: A Q
Hawrilenko: A K
The flop was a dire one for Smith: 10 7 4 . The turn 4 paired the board and now Smith had extra outs for a split-pot. He wouldn’t need those outs, however, as the river was the Q , giving him the entire pot and eliminating Hawrilenko.
Cunningham Wins a Vital Pot
Allen Cunningham raised pre-flop and was called by a single player in the big blind. On a flop of 8 2 2 , the big blind led out for 3,100 and Cunningham smooth called. The turn was the J and it was checked to Cunningham who bet 5,000. The opponent called and the two saw the 3 on the river. Again it checked over to Cunningham. This time Cunningham bet 10,000, leaving himself only a couple thousand behind. His opponent folded, however, and this brought Cunningham up to about 3,500.
Rasmussen Report
Action folded around to the button who raised. The only caller was Thayer Rasmussen in the big blind. On a flop of 9 8 4 , both players checked. Rasmussen checked the 10 on the turn and then called when the button bet 2,300. The 3 came on the river and, again, both players checked. At showdown, Rasmussen showed A 10 for top pair top kicker, and took down the pot. Rasmussen now has about 65,000.
Binger Survives All-in
Michael Binger continues to hold on by a thread, but it’s been enough to this point. The flop came A 10 3 , and after the board paired with the 3 on the turn, Binger moved all-in for his final 6600. Binger had been under the gun to begin the hand, and the lone remaining player was to his immediate left. But the player, with about 30,000, elected to muck his pocket queens and Binger was able to move up to 20,000 in chips.
Goldstein Also Hanging On
Ken Goldstein also is nursing a shortstack. He was able to see a cheap flop from the small blind when three players limped and the big blind checked. But after a flop of A 7 3 , Goldstein and the big blind checked, a player in middle position bet 2500, and the rest of the table folded.
Evdakov Looks to Pad Record
Nikolay Evdakov has already cashed in 10 events of this World Series of Poker, a new record for the WSOP. He continues to hang tough in the main event, having just added another pot. Evdakov was in the big blind and called a raise of 2500 from the button. The flop came K J J , and after Evdakov checked, the button came out for 3000. Evdakov made the call. The board double-paired on the turn with the K appearing, and both players checked. The 7 was the river card, and Evdakov stepped out for 5000. He was called, and showed K 7 for the turned full house. His opponent mucked.
Singer Singed
The flop came down K 5 3 after a preflop raise, and now the small blind bet 6000. David Singer, one from the cut-off, made the call. The 5 paired the board on the turn and the small blind bet 15000. Singer again made the call. The J was the river card and both players checked. Small blind showed K Q to take down the pot, while Singer slipped to 125,000 in chips.

Notable Hands:

Billirakis showed 10 10 for a flopped set of tens. Seat 1 showed J J for a flopped set of jacks. But seat 6 showed A 4 for the flopped nut flush. The turn and river didn't change things and Billirakis was eliminated, seat 1 was crippled and seat 6 nearly trippled up.
Amit Busts Hellmuth
With Phil Hellmuth already all in, Rafi Amit bet out on a K 5 5 flop and the third player in the hand let his hand go. Hellmuth showed J 10 9 7 and was in bad shape against Amit's K J 10 9 . The turn 3 and river 10 didn't improve Hellmuth and he headed to the rail.
Big Stack Collision
On a board of A Q 3 10 a large-stacked Ryan Daut bet 5,200 only to have another large stack in David Williams make it 21,600. Daut mucked his hand and Williams took a large pot. Talk about a tough table- it contains David Williams, Ryan Daut, Dario Minieri, Bill Gazes, David Chiu and Nenad Medic.
Pescatori Eliminated
Max Pescatori was essentially all in on a flop of 10 9 6 . He showed A A 8 3 and was against Michael Leibogren's K K J 10 ,

His opponent held A A 8 2 for an overpair. The turn was the K and Singer was still drawing. The J on the river missed both of his draws and he doubled his opponent up to nearly 20,000.

John D'Agostino Doubles Through David Singer With Quads
David Singer raised to 8,000 from under the gun and John D'Agostino called from the button. The flop came Q 9 2 , and Singer bet 11,000. D'Agostino raised all in for 40,000 more and Singer called. They both turned oevr their cards.
D'Agostino: A K Q Q
Singer: A 6 5 2
D'Agostino flopped top set (queens) while Singer flopped a pair of deuces and the nut flush draw. The turn was the 5 and the river was the Q , giving D'Agostino quad queens and the win. D'Agostino raked the pot and doubled up that hand to just under 120,000.
Nenad Medic Eliminated by Jorge "Twin-Caracas" Arias
On a flop of Q 10 6 , Mickey "Mouse" Mills bet 16,000 and Nenad Medic called all in for 13,000. Jorge "Twin-Caracas" Arias called the 16,000 bet and the turn was the A . Both players checked the side pot and the river was the 6 . Once again both players checked and Arias turned over Q Q J 7 for a full house (queens full of sixes). Mills and Medic both mucked their hands. Medic made his way to the rail as Arias raked the pot.
Tony G Eliminated by David Singer
Shortly after John D'Agostino doubled through him, David Singer got some of it back after eliminating Tony G from the tournamnet and pulling his chips over to his side of the table.
Singer raised to 8,000 from early position and Tony G and reraised the size of the pot (22,500). Singer called and the flop came 10 8 3 . Tony G bet his last 1,000 chip and Singer called.
Tony G: A A J 7
Singer: K K Q J
Tony G led on the flop with a pair of aces and a jack-high flush draw, Singer held pocket kings and a king-high flush draw. Both players had a gut-shot straight draw with a nine, Tony's to the jack and Singer's to the queen. The turn was the 9 , giving both players their straight, Singer with the best hand. At this point Tony G was drawing to a chopped pot with a queen, otherwise he would be eliminated from the tournament. The river was the 8 and Tony G hit the rail.

Singer goes out on bubble
David Singer was down to just a few hundred chips and put them into the pot in the first hand of hand-to-hand play. He was called by three players and when it was over Men Nguyen held a low hand and another player had a set. Singer started with a pair of eights but didn't improve.
Traniello survives with triple up
Marco Traniello was in a hand against Greg Pappas and Tim D'Alesandro. Traniello bet out each street and on seventh street had just a few hundred remaining after a bet of 2,400. Pappas was next to act, and seemed to know he was beat. He called, and then D'Alessandro was in an identical situatioin, saying, "I have to call." Traniello flipped over two pair, aces and fives, and an eight low to scoop the huge pot. After the hand Traniello had roughly 25,000 chips.
