Big Hands:
Negreanu Makes a Good Call
The table folded to Daniel Negreanu who made it 20,000 from the small blind and Vincent Musso called from the big blind. Negreanu took two cards and Musso took one.
After the draw, Negreanu checked and Musso bet 40,000. Negreanu went into the tank before eventually announcing that he didn’t believe him and made the call, while tabling the K-8-4-3-2 and Musso mucked his hand.
Negreanu is now up to 166,000 and Musso still has 280,000 after the hand.
Brown Takes a Pot
Eric Kesselman raised to 13,500 from middle position and Chad Brown called from the hijack. Both players drew one card. Kesselman then bet 23,000 and Brown made the call.
Brown turned up his hand first and showed the 9-7-6-4-2 and Kesselman mucked his hand. Brown is up to 155,000 and Kesselman dropped to a still very healthy 265,000.
Gould Doubles Up, Still Very Short
Peter Gould pushed all-in for his last 24,000 and was called by Erik Seidel. Both players drew one card and Seidel showed J-7-6-4-2 after the draw.
That left Gould in bad shape as he was drawing with the 6-5-4-3. He avoided making a straight and caught a 10 to stay alive. He doubled up to 55,000 and Seidel dropped to 170,000.
Gould Triples Up
Chad Brown raised to 15,000 from middle position and David Baker three-bet to 45,000 from the cutoff. Peter Gould committed his last 35,000 to the pot and Chad Brown called Baker’s raise as well.
Gould and Brown each drew one while Baker stood pat. Gould showed the 8-7-6-4-2 whic was good enough for the main pot, while Bakers 10-9-8-6-2 was good for the small side pot when Brown mucked.
Brown is now down to 108,000, Gould is up to 115,000 and Baker has 580,000.
