He called and Lisandro turned over his hole cards, KQ7 for a club flush and Negreanu mucked. Seat 6 threw his hand away and was eliminated. Lisandro was at 223,000 after the hand while Negreanu was just under 300,000.
Mueller Sends Cernuto Back To Miami
After all the cards were laid out on the table, John Cernuto was showing X-A627K7.
Apparently that other card was not anything helpful as Greg Mueller was showing 666 for at least a set, which was good enough to beat Cernuto and send him to the rail.
One Pair!
Nick Frangos: X-X-10
Pawel Andrzejewski: X-X-J
Ville Wahlbeck: X-X-K
Frangos called all in for his last 4,000. Andrzejewski completed to 6,000 and Wahlbeck called, creating a side pot.
Nick Frangos: X-X-102
Pawel Andrzejewski: X-X-J3
Ville Wahlbeck: X-X-K3
Wahlbeck bet 6,000 and Andrzejewski folded, leaving Wahlbeck and Frangos heads up. Their boards ran out this way:
Nick Frangos: X-X-102597Q(Q)
Ville Wahlbeck: X-X-K32A-X-(3J
Wahlbeck was ahead with only a pair of threes. On the river Frangos pleaded for just one pair to double up. He turned over his card and revealed the Q for a lovely pair of ladies. He doubled up to 10,000. It only lasted him for 20 minutes as he busted later in the level to Eric Brooks.
Magnus Persson Is the Bubble Boy, Habib Sends Him Out in 17th Place
Hasan Habib: 3982(A104)
Persson: 61097(6Q10)
Persson had been nursing his short stack for quite some time and finally decided to ship it for 12,000. Another player called but Habib raised it to 18,000 and got that player out of the way. “I didn’t want to play a big pot,” Habib said when he turned over A10 to go with his exposed 3. Persson was in good shape until the river when Habib caught the 4 to make his flush, topping Persson’s two pair and sending him to the rail as the bubble boy.
Left In The Deck:
Players have finally gone on break after the bubble burst, much to the delight of Daniel Negreanu who said he was in desperate need of a bathroom break.

Players Left: 250 of 1592
Chip Leaders:
Theo Tran - 93,000
Paul Andrzejewski - 91,000
Dustin Woolf - 67,000
Jim Campbell - 65,000
John Myung - 59,200
Mihai Manole - 55,000
John Phan - 51,300
Durwood Murray - 49,000
John Weller - 47,1000
Lee Redmond - 44,000
Average Stack: 25,472
Big Hands:
Campbell Goes to School
Jim Campbell went to the history books when he tangled for the second time with an opposing big stack at his table in Level 8. Earlier in the event Campbell was dealt ace-king, and after his opponent made an initial raise, Campbell reraised. The opponent pushed all-in and Campbell backed off. The scenario replayed itself however, this time when Campbell was dealt JJ. His opponent opened for 2,400, Campbell went to 8,500, and again his opponent shoved. Both players began the hand with just under 35,000 in chips, so a tournament life would be on the line if Campbell called. He did, and again the opponent showed ace-king. The flop of KQ10 gave both players possibilities, Campbell with the open-ender. The 9 on the turn completed the straight, and with Campbell now holding two of his opponent's outs, a harmless 2 came on the river. Campbell chipped up to just over 70,000.
Andrzejewski Can Spell Success
Paul Andrzejewski is riding a wave of momentum into the latter levels of Day 1 play. With over 70,000 in chips, Andrzejewsky put two more players away when he cracked aces with pocket sevens. The flop of 432 missed everyone, but the 7 on the turn put Andrzejewski in command, and after a harmless queen on the river his chip stack stood at 85,000. The next hand, playing from the button, Andrzejewski made a 2,600 call and saw the flop with the big blind and the under the gun raiser. The flop came 432, and after two checks to him, Andrzejewsky went all-in and raked the pot to top 90,000 in chips.
Third 3s a Charm
Steven Etoch crippled his opponent with a dream flop, after playing 33 from the small blind. The flop came K103 and the fireworks began. By the time the 7 came on the turn and 9 hit on the river, over 20,000 was in the pot. Etoch bet 22,700 on the river, and was called by his opponent who had flopped top two pair with K10.
Taft Wins Primary -- Hand
Tim Taft remained alive by tripling up early in the level. With one player all-in pre-flop for 4,375, Taft and another player called. The flop came down 865 and Taft pushed all-in. He had spiked top-set with his 88 to win a 13,000 pot and increase his stack to 25,200.
Something in the Air Tonight
Phil Collins -- no, not the singer -- made one of the better calls of the event early in Level 8 against the table big stack. The flop came down K84 for three limpers, and when his opponent bet out 2,700, Collins check-called. The A on the brought another check call, to the tune of 4,200. The K came on the river, his opponent bet 7,500 to put Collins all in, and he made another call, with just 108 for bottom pair. His opponent showed the bluff of 103 -- and will no doubt be trashing his Best of Genesis CD when he returns home.

Dustin Woolf: 150,000
Pawel Andrzejewski: 145,000
Joe Cutler: 136,500
Manelic Minaya: 132,000

Richard Monroe: 116,000

Average Stack: 62,431
Big Hands:
Rolling Thunder
Thomas "Thunder" Keller raised to 5,000 preflop. The action folded to 0804 who pushed all in. Keller quickly glanced at his cards to make sure what he had, and made the call. Keller turned over KK and 0804 showed AJ. The board ran out 93QJ7 and Keller's cowboys held up.
Moments later, Keller raised from the button to 6,400. No one called and he stole the blinds and antes, which are worth a pretty penny at this stage in the tournament. Keller's stack was at around 60,000.
Goldberg Wins a Nice Pot
Under the gun, Fred Goldberg limped in. The action folded to the button who popped it to 4,000 total. The blinds mucked and Goldberg made the call. On the K65 flop, Goldberg led out with 4,500. The button called. On the turn, the 2 showed up and Goldberg fired a shot of 8,000. He was called again. On the K river, both players checked and Goldberg showed 99 for two pair and his opponent showed A6 for a lesser two pair. Goldberg took the pot of about 35,000 and his stack improved to 60,000.
Heads or Tails?
Pawel Andrzejewski raised to 5,000 preflop and John "Razor" Phan came over the top to 15,000 total. Andrzejewski made the call and the flop came J32. Andrzejewski took control of the hand with two simple words: "all in." Phan went into the tank, which he is becoming famous for. The clock was finally called and Phan had one minute to make a decision. Phan reached behind his chips many times, as if he was about to push his chips in. Finally, Phan took one of his black "100" chips and flip it. "Tails!" somebody at the table said. Apparently it was heads and Phan finally mucked his hand, sending a pot of over 40,000 toward Andrzejewski.
Fall From Grace
Theo Tran has had a rough patch. He started the day as chip leader, but has lost many big pots. With the board showing J76102, Kurosh Dejgosha made a bet, with the pot already well over 50,000. Tran tanked for a long time, finally grabbing a tower of yellow "1,000" chips and shoving them in the middle for the call. Dejgosha showed QJ for top pair and Tran mucked. With the loss, Tran's stack that once stood close to 150,000 was almost half gone as he sat with around 80,000.
