Mike Leah Wins A Big OneDec 14, '18 With a board of QJ89J and a pile of chips already in the pot, Mike Leah bet 50,000 when his lone opponent checked to him on the river. After plenty of thought his opponent made the call, only to muck his cards when Leah showed the A3. Leah chipped up to 309,000 after the hand. Player Tags: Mike Leah Mike Leah Busts TwoDec 14, '18 We arrived at the table to find a three way all-in, with Mike Leah’s QQ up against the AK of Kevin Calenzo and the AK of a third player. The board ran out J108J9 and Leah made a straight, securing the pot and sending his two opponents to the rail. Leah chipped up to 103,000 after the hand. Player Tags: Kevin Calenzo, Mike Leah Ankush Mandavia Eliminated On The Money BubbleDec 15, '18 Mike Leah was punishing his table during the money bubble, and Ankush Mandavia had enough. Unfortunately for the bracelet winner, however, his timing wasn’t great. Leah opened to 20,000, as he had done numerous times this level, and Mandavia shoved for his last 199,000. Leah made the call with AJ, and Mandavia saw the bad news, as he was dominated with A6. The flop fell 542, giving Mandavia a gutshot straight draw. The turn was the J, adding flush outs, but the river was the Q, and Mandavia missed all of his outs to hit the rail. The remaining 36 players are now all in the money, with just 15 minutes remaining in the evening. Player Tags: Mike Leah, Ankush Mandavia Jesse Sylvia Eliminated By Mike LeahDec 15, '18 Jesse Sylvia was short stacked and shoved for about 95,000 from early position and was called by Mike Leah in the big blind, who woke up with pocket aces. Sylvia had some hope with pocket fours, but they failed to connect as the dealer rolled out the board. While he was eliminated just short of the money, Leah chipped up to 535,000. Player Tags: Mike Leah, Jesse Sylvia Mike Leah Eliminated By Ryan Hohner (16th - $12,353)Dec 16, '18 We missed the action, but saw Mike Leah shipping over the rest of his stack on what looked like a failed bluff attempt with pocket sevens on a board of K42J. Unfortunately for him, Ryan Hohner held KJ for top two pair and made the call. To add insult to injury, the river was the K, giving Hohner an unnecessary full house. Leah is eliminated in 16th place ($12,353) while Hohner jumps to 2,635,000. Player Tags: Mike Leah, Ryan Hohner |

Mike Leah Scores Quick KnockoutJul 17, '17 In one of the very first hands he was dealt after entering the tournament, Mike Leah has scored a quick knockout. On a flop of 986, a player moved all in for about 3,400 and Mike Leah made the call with A10 for two overs, a flush draw and a straight draw. The all-in player had A9 for top pair, top kicker, but the 8 on the turn left him drawing to a full house. The river was the K and Leah’s nut flush sent the player to the rail. Leah is now just over his starting stack with about 30,000 in chips. Player Tags: Mike Leah Mike Leah Rakes In A Small OneJul 18, '17 We caught the action on a 7-5-2 rainbow board, and Mike Leah had bet 1,250. Pierre Neuville, who made the WSOP final table in 2015, called, and a third player in the hand made it 2,500. Leah went into the tank before making it 4,350. Neuville didn’t take too long before mucking, and Leah’s opponent thought about it briefly before folding 8-8 face-up. Did Leah have the big pocket pair or was he making a move? Leah offered to show him one card, but the offer was declined. He was up to around 30,000. Player Tags: Mike Leah |
