The first level of play in today's Championship Seven Card Stud eight-or-better event has passed. Registered players are still arriving as play continues so official numbers of entrants, prize pool, and payouts have not been released.
The players started with $6,000 in chips and with the limits low there shouldn't be many eliminations in the early rounds. Today's field is littered with recognizeable faces and names. Ralph Perry, Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy, Paul "The Truth" Darden, Scotty Nguyen, Greg Raymer, Layne Flack, David Sklansky, John Juanda, Chad Brown, Ted Forrest and David Grey are just some of the big time players in today's stud tournament.
Play has already entered level two and the limits are going up to $50-$100 with a $10 ante and a $15 low card. Check back in the next hour for payout information and the official numbers from today's event.
