2018 CPPT Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series Champion Anthony Zinno Joins The FieldDec 14, '18 Anthony Zinno has taken a seat here on day 1 of the Card Player Poker Tour Venetian DeepStack Showdown $3,500 main event. Zinno defeated a field of 547 players this July to take down the $5,000 buy-in CPPT Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series no-limit hold’em main event, earning $466,670 for the win. Zinno is a three-time World Poker Tour main event champion. He also has a World Series of Poker bracelet, which he won in the $25,000 pot-limit Omaha high roller in 2015. He went on to win the Card Player Player of the Year award that year. He will be looking to add to his $8.2 million in lifetime live tournament earnings with a deep run in this event. Anthony Zinno Doubles Through James RomeroJul 17, '18 Anthony Zinno raised to 78,000 and James Romero three-bet to 260,000. Zinno called and the flop fell 995. Romero bet 120,000 and Zinno moved all in for 335,000. Romero called with pocket queens, but Zinno held pocket aces and the best hand. The turn and river came 44 and Zinno doubled up to about 1,100,000. Romero was left with just 130,000. Zinno’s rail exploded, however, when the J hit the river to give him trips and the tournament. Jones officially walks away with $390,956 for his runner-up finish, after the two players made a deal during heads-up play. Zinno takes home the title, the trophy, and the $466,670 first-place prize. Cate Hall Eliminates Anthony ZinnoJul 19, '17 We caught up with the action after the flop of QJ3 with 2015 Card Player Player of the Year Anthony Zinno getting all-in and being called by Cate Hall. Zinno had the Q3 for top and bottom pair while Hall had the K10 for an open ended straight draw. The turn brought the K to give Hall additional outs. Anthony Zinno Loses A Wild One To BustJul 18, '16 Anthony Zinno had gotten short but picked up pocket kings preflop and was able to get his stack all in. The bad news? He had run into the AA of Joe Kuether. Zinno took the lead in dramatic fashion on a KJJ flop and was looking really good to double up after the J hit the turn. The A on the river gave Kuether the higher full house though and Zinno was sent to the rail. Kuether chipped up to 18,000 after the hand.
