Level 11 Update: Fricke and Fitoussi EliminatedJun 21, '09 Blinds: 1000-2000 Players Remaining: 66 out of 295 Chip Counts: 1. Matt Graham — 330,000 Average Chip Count: 134,090 Notable Eliminations: Jimmy Fricke, Bruno Fitoussi, Hoyt Corkins, David Benefield, Tom McEvoy Big Hands:
Jimmy Fricke and Bruno Fitoussi both got all of their money in preflop against a third player who had them both covered. Fricke showed K J 8 9, while Fitoussi showed 8 9 10 J, but they were both trailing the K K A 8 that the third player held. The board ran out 5 Q 5 5 10, giving a full house to the unknown player and eliminating Fricke and Fitoussi on the same hand. Grundy Takes Small Pot off Hanson On a board of 9106A, Ben Grundy bet 12,000 and John Hanson made the call. The river was the 9 and both players checked. Grundy announced “flush” as he turned over his K1035. Hanson held onto his cards, stared at the board, mumbled under his breath, and then took multiple looks at Grundy’s hand before finally releasing putting his cards into the muck.
The final board read 678K9 and Jonas Entin made a pot sized bet on the river, which was eventually called by Tom McEvoy. Unfortunately for McEvoy, Entin tabled J1084, which was the nut straight and McEvoy mucked his hand. McEvoy was finished off and eliminated just a few hands later.
