Steve Billirakis – 202,000 Notable Eliminations: Jean-Robert Bellande Note: Players have gone on a 60-minute dinner break and will return to action at 8:20 p.m. Big Hands: Razz Mackey’s Cards Are Awful, Takes Pot Chris Ferguson completed to 3,000 and James Mackey raised to 6,000. Ferguson made the call and then led out for another 3,000 on fourth street. Mackey made the call and Ferguson bet 6,000 on fifth street. Mackey called again and both players checked sixth street. They did the same on seventh street and Mackey turned over 8-7-5-3-2. Ferguson mucked and Mackey took down the pot. Ferguson was down to 35,000 while Mackey was at 60,000. Forrest Cut Down Ted Forrest was all in on fourth street against Phil Galfond. By the time their boards ran out, Forrest wound up with two pair, nines and fours. That’s never a good thing in razz, especially when Galfond made a 9-8 low and Forrest made his way to the exit. Omaha/8 Alioto Gets Quartered On a flop of 1076, Magnus Persson, the player in seat 3 and Dario Alioto all put in three bets. The turn was the 9 and Persson bet 6,000. He was called by both opponents and the river was the 8. Persson bet again and was called again. Persson turned over A963 for the nut flush and it was good for the entire high pot. Alioto and seat 3 each showed the same low and split the low pot. Alioto was at 40,000 while Persson was up to 185,000. Bertrand Grospellier – 1,720,000 Card Player Chip Counts: Phil Hellmuth – 288,000 Average Chip Count: 376,828 Notable Eliminations: Chris Ferguson Big Hands: Hac Dang Gets the Best of Persson On a flop of 938, Magnus Persson moved his last 200,000 into the middle and was called by prominent high-stakes online player Hac Dang. Dang showed AA and was ahead of Persson’s flush draw with his A4. The turn was the 4, giving Dang a few more outs, but the river was the 7 and Persson was sent to the rail. Bernard Perner Hits Seven Figures Binjian Wu bet 100,000 on the river with over 300,000 in the pot already and the board reading 58K410 and Bernard Perner was faced with a decision. Perner took a long time to think about his decision before finally deciding to make the call. Wu tabled AK, but Perner turned two pair and showed K4. With that pot, Perner cracked the 1,000,000 chip mark. Chris Ferguson Eliminated Chris Ferguson was crippled right before the break when his two pair was not as good as his opponent’s two pair, leaving him with 4,000 chips. After a few hands in this level, he was all in for his 1,000 ante. A player in early position limped in and Sander Lylloff made it 21,000. Everybody folded and so did the limper, leaving Lylloff to eliminated the man known as “Jesus.” Lylloff had A6 and Ferguson had 92. The flop was great for Lylloff as it came 66J. The 8 on the turn left Ferguson drawing dead and he exited the tournament and headed for the payout desk. Kings Hold Up for Sebok Raymond Muster got all of his chips into the middle preflop and was called by Joe Sebok. Sebok tabled KK and Muster showed AK. The flop was great for Sebok when the dealer put out the 745, leaving Muster with only two outs. The turn was the 4 and the river was the 2, giving Sebok a flush and eliminating Muster from the tournament. Sebok now has 458,000 in chips. Ivey Eliminates Wu With Aces Ivey raised to 16,000 preflop from early position and was called by Binjian Wu. The flop was 72Q and Ivey bet 23,000 and was called. The turn was the 8 and Ivey bet 55,000, which sent Wu into the tank before eventually putting out the call. The river was the 4 and Ivey forced Wu to put in the rest of his chips. Wu eventually made the call and Ivey tabled AA and Wu was eliminated from the tournament. Ivey is now up to 900,000 in chips. Sevens Are Big Enough for J.C. Tran After a raise and a call preflop, J.C. Tran and Jordan Smith watched a flop of 1032. Smith bet 23,000 and was called by Tran. The turn was the 5 and Smith bet 55,000, called again by Tran. The river paired the board, and the dealer turned over the 5 and this time both players checked. Smith said he had a pair, and Tran showed him the 77. Smith flashed pocket sixes and tossed them into the muck. Jesper Hougaard’s Kicker Isn’t Big Enough On a flop of A75, Jesper Hougaard bet out and was raised by his opponent. Hougaard then moved all in and was called by his opponent. Hougaard tabled A8 and needed running diamonds or an 8 when he saw his opponent’s AK. Ville Wahlbeck – 390,000 Average Chip Count: 250,588 Notable Eliminations: Brett Richey Big Hands: Lisandro Takes Some Chips Off Negreanu, Takes Out A Player In Process Seat 6: X-X-6 The player in seat 6 completed to 6,000 and Negreanu popped it to 12,000. Lisandro called as did seat 6. Seat 6: X-X-6Q Negreanu bet 6,000 and Lisandro called. Seat 6 called his last 3,000 and was all in. Seat 6: X-X-6QJ Negreanu led out with 12,000 and Lisandro stuck around. Seat 6: X-X-6QJ10 Negreanu bet another 12,000 and Lisandro called. Negreanu then checked in the dark as the river was dealt and Lisandro fired 12,000. “You’ve got it already?” Negreanu asked. He called and Lisandro turned over his hole cards, KQ7 for a club flush and Negreanu mucked. Seat 6 threw his hand away and was eliminated. Lisandro was at 223,000 after the hand while Negreanu was just under 300,000. Mueller Sends Cernuto Back To Miami After all the cards were laid out on the table, John Cernuto was showing X-A627K7. One Pair! Nick Frangos: X-X-10 Frangos called all in for his last 4,000. Andrzejewski completed to 6,000 and Wahlbeck called, creating a side pot. Nick Frangos: X-X-102 Wahlbeck bet 6,000 and Andrzejewski folded, leaving Wahlbeck and Frangos heads up. Their boards ran out this way: Nick Frangos: X-X-102597Q(Q) Wahlbeck was ahead with only a pair of threes. On the river Frangos pleaded for just one pair to double up. He turned over his card and revealed the Q for a lovely pair of ladies. He doubled up to 10,000. It only lasted him for 20 minutes as he busted later in the level to Eric Brooks. Magnus Persson Is the Bubble Boy, Habib Sends Him Out in 17th Place Hasan Habib: 3982(A104) Persson had been nursing his short stack for quite some time and finally decided to ship it for 12,000. Another player called but Habib raised it to 18,000 and got that player out of the way. “I didn’t want to play a big pot,” Habib said when he turned over A10 to go with his exposed 3. Persson was in good shape until the river when Habib caught the 4 to make his flush, topping Persson’s two pair and sending him to the rail as the bubble boy. Left In The Deck: Players have finally gone on break after the bubble burst, much to the delight of Daniel Negreanu who said he was in desperate need of a bathroom break.
