There are many parallels between the stock market and the business of poker. Risk and reward must be weighed to make the decision that is the most lucrative. Perhaps that is why Eugene Todd, a former stock broker, is an accomplished poker player.
Todd is one of the elite players who has surpassed the million-dollar mark in lifetime tournament winnings. He has cashed in the World Series of Poker many times and made the final table of the 2006 $5,000 no-limit hold'em event. He placed third, behind Phil Hellmuth and the event winner, Jeff Cabanillas, to win almost $234,000. As for the World Poker Tour, he has cashed multiple times and made the televised final tables at the 2005 Mirage Poker Showdown and the 2007 Borgata Poker Open, the latter of which he placed fifth, for almost $326,000.
