Richard Ashby – 1,100,000 Eliminations: 7th. hasan Habib – $40,020 Hasan Habib Doubles Through Nick Schulman Nick Schulman raised to 45,000 from the button and Hasan Habib called from the big blind. Each player drew one card. First to act, Habib moved all in for around 60,000 and Schulman called. Habib showed 7 – 6 – 5 – 3 – 2 and raked the pot, doubling up to about 250,000 this hand. Still on the short stack, Habib sits with roughly the same amount he entered the official seven-handed final table with. Hasan Habib Eliminated in 7th Place ($40,020) Shortly after doubling up through Nick Schulman, Hasan Habib open-shoved the short stack before the draw for about 170,000 and Richard Ashby called. John Juanda started the day as the short stack and managed to double up through Greg Raymer early on with a pat 9 against Raymer’s pat 10. Juanda then made a run at the chip lead amassing over 500,000 at one point before surrendering a huge pot to Richard Ashby which put Ashby on top and dropped Juanda down to about 350,000. Raymer on the other hand wouldn’t be so lucky as he was eliminated in 9th place ($27,928) after Raymer paired jacks against Juanda’s made ten. With Raymer’s 9th place elimination, the final eight players have consolidated to one table where one more player will need to be eliminated before the official seven-handed final table is set. Smith vs. Habib Hasan Habib bet 1,100 from middle position and Eric Baldwin made the call from the small blind. Justin Smith made the call from the big blind and the flop fell J 9 6. Smith bet 2,600 and Habib made the call. Baldwin mucked and then both players checked the 6 on the turn and the 10 on the river. Smith flipped over K 10 and Habib mucked. Jarvis Doubles Up Opponent The flop read K 7 2 when Matt Jarvis bet 2,250 from the big blind. The cutoff raised for 2,550 on top and then Jarvis reraised another 4,600 on top of that. The cutoff reraised again and then Jarvis reraised 15,000 more. Erik Cajelais Doubles Up Erik Cajelais got the last of his chips into the middle preflop and the cutoff made the call. Soi Nguyen — 105,000 Average Chip Count: 34,701 Notable Eliminations: Greg Mueller Chip Movers and Shakers Allen Bari joined the top 10 during the last level with 55,000 while Chad Brown and Harold Cohen made an exit from the top 10 spots. The biggest gain was made by Rusty Pethoud, who now holds 90,000. Big Hands: Greg Mueller Eliminated Greg Mueller moved all in for his final 2,325 and the hi-jack and small blind both made the call. The flop was dealt J102 and the small blind bet 3,500. The hi-jack made the call and the turn fell A. The small blind checked and the hi-jack bet 6,000, inducing the small blind to muck. The hi-jack flipped over AJ and Mueller then flipped over pocket eights. The river fell 6 and Mueller was eliminated on the hand. Soi Nguyen Grows his Lead There was more than 12,000 in the pot preflop and the board read 86392 when Soi Nguyen bet 10,000 UTG+1. The button made the call after some thought and Nguyen flipped over pocket kings. The button mucked and Nguyen increased his chip lead to 105,000. Hasan Habib Pads his Stack Hasan Habib bet 350 on a flop of A82 from the cutoff and the button made the call. The 10 fell on the turn and Habib fired out 2,150. The button went into the tank and then made the call. The river brought the Q and the button went into the tank again. This time he decided to muck though, and Habib grew his stack to 25,000. Jason Mercier Gets Low after Aces are Cracked The board read KQ8Q10 when Jeff Mahoney bet 1,500 from the big blind. Jason Mercier raised to 5,700 from late position and Mahoney made the call. Mercier turned over pocket aces and Mahoney showed down Q9. He won the pot with trip queens and he now holds 65,000. Mercier was knocked down to 2,300 after the hand. Corwin Cole – 230,000 Notable Eliminations: James Akenhead Big Hands: Ted Lawson Eliminated After the flop came down Q65, seat 7 fired 5,000. Ted Lawson was next to act and he took his time to make a decision. The bet was more than a third of his remaining stack and after much deliberation, he finally moved all in. His opponent snap-called and they showed their hands: Lawson: 99 Lawson was trailing and the board finished off J and A and Lawson was eliminated. Seiver Takes One Scott Seiver raised to 1,100 preflop and the player in seat 8 made the call. The flop came down Q94 and Seiver led out with 2,000. His opponent decided to let it go there before losing any more chips and Seiver took down the pot. He was at 54,000. Mizrachi Bluff Fails We got to the table after the board had run out A5323. The player in seat 9 had fired a bet and Michael Mizrachi raised to almost 30,000. His opponent tanked long and the ESPN cameras caught all the action. Finally, seat 9 made the call and Mizrachi lightly tapped the table. “Ace-jack?” Mizrachi inquired. His opponent turned over A10 for aces-up and Mizrachi dropped a big pot. He was at 95,000 after the hand. Alaei Doubles Daniel Alaei and his opponent got all of the money in the middle on a flop of J97. Daniel Alaei showed J10 and had the lead against his opponent’s A7. The turn was the 9 and the river bricked off, doubling up Alaei to 30,000. Duke Scores a Double On a flop of 3210, Annie Duke checked and her opponent bet 8,000. Duke check-raised to 17,500 and her opponent went into the tank and thought for three minutes before moving all-in. Duke snap-called and tabled 33 and left her opponent drawing very thin with his KK. The ESPN crew was called over to film the all-in pot. The turn was the 2 and the river was the 6, eliminating her opponent and doubling Duke up to 130,000. After the hand, Duke joked with the rest of her table about how painful it can be to wait so long for each card to be dealt with the cameras filming. Sneaky Kaplan Gets Caught On a flop of J97 Gabe Kaplan checked to Luca Pagano, who bet 2,300. After some deliberation and asking the dealer what the bet was, Kaplan threw out 5,300. The floor was called over, eventually deciding that Kaplan’s bet was merely a call. Action continued as both players checked the 7 turn. When the K fell on the river Kaplan led out for 3,100 and Pagano paused for thought. He called and as Kaplan announced “queen-high,” Pagano turned over 49 for two pair to take the pot and chip up to around 31,000. Kaplan had just 10,400 after the hand. Cole Going Strong On a board of 10Q3K, the day’s starting chip leader Corwin Cole checked to his opponent, who bet 6,000 from the button. Cole check-raised to 35,000, putting his opponent all in for essentially 16,000. His opponent called and they showed down: Cole: K10 Cole held two pair to his opponent’s one pair and straight draw. The 8 river helped neither player and Corwin busted another player while chipping up to 230,000. Mueller Takes One Down Greg Mueller check-raised his opponent from 1,600 to 4,400 on a flop of KK3. His opponent called and the turn brought the A. Mueller checked and called when his opponent fired 6,000 into the pot on the turn. The 6 fell on the river and both players checked. Mueller showed A7 for two pair and his opponent mucked. Mueller had 34,000 after the hand. Scotty Gets Action Scotty Nguyen and two other players saw a flop of AA5. The first player bet 2,500, Nguyen called, and the third party made it 7,500. The first player folded and Nguyen moved all-in for 18,650. His opponent went into the tank for a solid five minutes before calling. Nguyen showed 55, giving him a full house and was ahead of the A4 of his opponent. The turn was the K and the river was the Q and Nguyen doubled up to 62,000. Hasan Habib Gets a Knockout The player on the button raised to 1,200 and Hasan Habib made it 7,000 from the big blind. The button then moved all-in for his last 20,000 and Habib made the call. Habib showed AK and was ahead of the button’s QJ. The flop came AA5, giving Habib trips and leaving his opponent nearly drawing dead. The turn was the 4 and the river was the 3, giving the pot to Habib, as he moved up to 72,000 in chips. Theo Jorgensen – 1,325,000 Joe Awada Back To The Grind Picking up the action on the turn, the board read J755 and a player bet 25,000 into a pot of about 45,000. Michael Mizrachi raised to about 65,000. The action was back on his opponent and he eventually mucked his hand. Mizrachi scored a nice pot and he was up to 180,000. Joe Awada Eliminated Joe Awada moved all in preflop and one player decided to look him up. Here were their cards: Awada: 95 Awada was dominated but the flop looked promising as it came J87. Awada flopped a double gutter along with a flush draw. But the board offered no help on the turn or river as it came A and 9 respectively and Awada was out. Harder Takes One A player raised to 12,000 preflop and Christian Harder repopped to 36,500. His opponent called and the flop came down 653. Both players checked and the turn was the 9. They checked again and they did the same when the Q fell on the river. Harder then tabled 86 for top pair on the flop, which bettered his opponent’s AK. Harder took in the pot and he was up to 420,000. Kenney Lets The Chips Fly Bryn Kenney raised to 13,000 preflop and the player in the cutoff reraised to 37,500. Kenney made the call and the flop came down J109. Kenney led out with 85,500 and his opponent mucked. Kenney then rubbed some salt in the wound as he tabled A5 for the stone-cold bluff. Kenney raked in the pot and he was at 640,000. Get Out Of His Way Tony Dunst raised to 13,500 from the small blind and Isaac Krantz made the call from the big blind. The flop came down 1062 and Dunst led for 18,000. Krantz raised to 41,000 and Dunst made the call. The turn was the 3 and Dunst checked. Krantz bet 100,000 and Dunst made the call. The river was the K and Dunst checked one more time. Krantz moved all in, having Dunst covered. Dunst made the call and turned over K-10 for two pair and Krantz mucked. Dunst scored a massive pot and he was up with the big boys, holding a stack of 1.12 million. Habib Finds Aces Hasan Habib moved all in preflop and was called by one player. Here were their hands: Habib: AA Habib was ahead and the flop increased his lead when it fell A97, giving him a set. The turn was the K to lock up the hand for Habib and the 6 completed the board on the river. Habib doubled to 295,000. Shorr Drops One Picking up the action after the flop fell 1087, a player fired 20,000 and Shannon Shorr made the call. The turn was the 4 and Shorr checked. Blake Kelso — $48,847 Player Twitter Accounts Jean-Robert Bellande Big Hands: Habib Hits The Ground Running Hasan Habib shoved for 264,000 on the very first hand of the day. Action folded to Paul Dlugozima in the hijack and he made the call. Habib: QQ The race was on as Habib’s ladies were a slight favorite, until the flop came down QJ10, giving Dlugozima a Broadway straight. Habib was not out of it, however, as he had flopped a set. The turn was the J, giving Habib a full house and a lock on the hand. The river was the 3 and Habib doubled to 570,000. Dlugozima was left with just 64,000 and was eliminated a few hands later. Erkenov Doubles Up Diogo Borges raised from the button and Ismail Erkenov repopped. The two went back and forth until Erkenov found himself all in for 684,000. Borges: AK Erkenov needed to fade a three outer and the flop fell J75. He was still ahead but still needed to fade an ace or running cards. The turn was the 9 and Borges was down to needing an ace to score the knockout. But the river was the 5 and Erkenov doubled to 1.4 million. Borges was hammered down to 160,000. Lamprea Forced Out Evan Lamprea raised to 38,000 preflop and Pavel Milanov made the call from a couple of seats over. The two players then saw a flop of 764 and Lamprea fired 52,000. Milanov made the call and the turn was the A. Lamprea fired another barrel, this one for 127,000. Milanov then decided to fire back, moving all in for 500,000. That caused Lamprea to muck his hand and he was down to 3.3 million. Milanov improved to 830,000. Baker Gives Up The Double David Baker raised to 36,000 and Russell Rosenblum made it 110,000 to go from the button. Baker put in one last raise for just 8,000 more, putting Rosenblum all in. Rosenblum: K9 Baker held two live cards but both players caught a piece of the A97 flop. Rosenblum stayed ahead when the board finished off J and 2 and he doubled to 275,000. Baker was at 717,000. Lodden With The KO Johnny Lodden raised from the cutoff and Richard Kirsch moved all in for 165,000. Lodden looked him up and they turned over their cards. Lodden: A9 Lodden jumped ahead in the race when the flop fell AQ4. The turn was the 2, giving Kirsch outs to a wheel. But the 10 bricked off and Lodden scored the knockout. He was at 2 million after the hand. Hougaard Doubles Through David Peters Picking up the action after the flop, Jesper Hougaard moved all in for 205,000 after the flop came down KK10. David Peters looked him up with QQ. But Hougaard had outflopped Peters as he tabled KJ for trips. The turn was the 4 and the river was the 4, filling up Hougaard and doubling him to 600,000. Peters was down to 580,000. Chan Takes One, Then Takes One On The Chin Picking up the action after the turn, the board read J832. Johnny Chan fired 85,000 and Robin Bergren popped it to 205,000. Chan made the call and the river was the 9. Chan kept his foot on the gas pedal as he led out with 250,000. Bergren had enough and threw his hand away. Chan took down the pot and he was at 2,850,000. A few hands later, Robert Pisano and Chan got into a raising war that saw Pisano all in for 2.19 million. Chan made the call and the ultimate cooler was shown. Chan: KK Chan was on the wrong end of the cold deck and the board ran out 105474. Pisano became the chip leader with 4.4 million while Chan was at 800,000. Dorfman Ejects Villard David Villard was all in preflop and Randy Dorfman put him at risk. Here were their hands: Villard: 33 Villard was in bad shape against the overpair and for possible flush draws were covered. The board ran out A10410J and Dorfman scored the knockout with jacks-full. He was at 1.45 million. Keikoan Flushed Away We didn’t catch the action, but Matt Keikoan found himself all in after the board had run out AJ364. Matthew Pearson decided to look him up and he turned over KQ for the second nut-flush. Keikoan could only show 74 for a lesser flush and he was shown the door. He took home $48,847 for his efforts in the Main Event and it was his third cash of the 2010 WSOP. He won a bracelet in Event No. 29 ($10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship). Pearson was up to 846,000 after the knockout. Affleck Dumped By The Ladies Jared Ingles opened for 35,000 and Daniel Chamberlain made it 85,000 to go from the hijack seat. Matt Affleck then made it 200,000 from the button and only Chamberlain stuck around. The flop then fell 863. Chamberlain checked to Affleck, who fired 225,000. Chamberlain made the call and the 3 came on the turn. Chamberlain checked again and Affleck slowed down as he did the same. The river was the 7 and both players checked again. Chamberlain then tabled QQ and Affleck mucked. Chamberlain was at 2.55 million after the hand while Affleck slipped to 2.45 million. Bellande Shows The Respect Jean-Robert Bellande and Jesper Hougaard each saw a flop of AA3. Both players checked and the 7 fell on the turn. Bellande led for 65,000 and Hougaard made the call. The 6 came on the river and Bellande fired 125,000. Hougaard then moved in for 458,000 and Bellande took a tank session. He eventually mucked AK face up as he dropped to 700,000. Hougaard would move up to 1.02 million after he knocked out Claudio Baptista on the very next hand. The board ran out 86554 and Payne was gone. John Dolan Doubles Up Michael Skender opened to 235,000 from under the gun. John Dolan raised all in for 1,335,000 from middle position. Action was folded back around to Skender. He called with 1010 and was flipping versus the AQ of Dolan. The board ran out A823Q and Dolan doubled to 2,750,000. Skender was down to 750,000. Hasan Habib Triples Up Hasan Habib shoved for 460,000 from under the gun. William Thorson made the call. Action was on Damien Luis in the small blind. He moved all in for 1,100,000. Thorson called to put both players at risk. Habib exposed the AK, Luis tabled the 44 and Thorson flipped over the AQ. The board ran out A9365 and Habib tripled to 1,570,000. Thorson won a bit on the hand. Luis was gone. Jonathan Driscoll Doubles Up, Eliminated Shortly Thereafter Jonathan Driscoll was all in for 1,500,000 preflop with the K9. Brandon Steven had him covered with the JJ. The board ran out J43109 as Driscoll hit a flush on the river to doubled up to about 3,100,000. Steven was down to 2,450,000 after the hand. Even though Driscoll doubled up, he was eliminated a few hands later. Scott Clements Takes One Scott Clements opened to 240,000 from late position. Bryn Kenney raised to 540,000 from the button. Ted Lawson was next to act and he took his time to make a decision. The bet was more than a third of his remaining stack and after much deliberation, he finally moved all in. His opponent snap-called and they showed their hands: Lawson: 99 Lawson was trailing and the board finished off J and A and Lawson was eliminated. Seiver Takes One Scott Seiver raised to 1,100 preflop and the player in seat 8 made the call. The flop came down Q94 and Seiver led out with 2,000. His opponent decided to let it go there before losing any more chips and Seiver took down the pot. He was at 54,000. Mizrachi Bluff Fails We got to the table after the board had run out A5323. The turn was the 9 and the river bricked off, doubling up Alaei to 30,000. Duke Scores a Double On a flop of 3210, Annie Duke checked and her opponent bet 8,000. Duke check-raised to 17,500 and her opponent went into the tank and thought for three minutes before moving all-in. Duke snap-called and tabled 33 and left her opponent drawing very thin with his KK. The ESPN crew was called over to film the all-in pot. The turn was the 2 and the river was the 6, eliminating her opponent and doubling Duke up to 130,000. After the hand, Duke joked with the rest of her table about how painful it can be to wait so long for each card to be dealt with the cameras filming. Sneaky Kaplan Gets Caught On a flop of J97 Gabe Kaplan checked to Luca Pagano, who bet 2,300. After some deliberation and asking the dealer what the bet was, Kaplan threw out 5,300. The floor was called over, eventually deciding that Kaplan’s bet was merely a call. Action continued as both players checked the 7 turn. When the K fell on the river Kaplan led out for 3,100 and Pagano paused for thought. He called and as Kaplan announced “queen-high,” Pagano turned over 49 for two pair to take the pot and chip up to around 31,000. Kaplan had just 10,400 after the hand. The 8 river helped neither player and Corwin busted another player while chipping up to 230,000. Mueller Takes One Down Greg Mueller check-raised his opponent from 1,600 to 4,400 on a flop of KK3. His opponent called and the turn brought the A. Mueller checked and called when his opponent fired 6,000 into the pot on the turn. The 6 fell on the river and both players checked. Mueller showed A7 for two pair and his opponent mucked. Mueller had 34,000 after the hand. Scotty Gets Action Scotty Nguyen and two other players saw a flop of AA5. The first player bet 2,500, Nguyen called, and the third party made it 7,500. The first player folded and Nguyen moved all-in for 18,650. Lamprea Forced Out Evan Lamprea raised to 38,000 preflop and Pavel Milanov made the call from a couple of seats over. The two players then saw a flop of 764 and Lamprea fired 52,000. Milanov made the call and the turn was the A. Lamprea fired another barrel, this one for 127,000. Milanov then decided to fire back, moving all in for 500,000. Sneaky Kaplan Gets Caught On a flop of J97 Gabe Kaplan checked to Luca Pagano, who bet 2,300. After some deliberation and asking the dealer what the bet was, Kaplan threw out 5,300. Habib: QQ The race was on as Habib’s ladies were a slight favorite, until the flop came down QJ10, giving Dlugozima a Broadway straight. Habib was not out of it, however, as he had flopped a set. The turn was the J, giving Habib a full house and a lock on the hand. The river was the 3 and Habib doubled to 570,000. Dlugozima was left with just 64,000 and was eliminated a few hands later. Erkenov Doubles Up Diogo Borges raised from the button and Ismail Erkenov repopped. The two went back and forth until Erkenov found himself all in for 684,000. Borges: AK Erkenov needed to fade a three outer and the flop fell J75. He was still ahead but still needed to fade an ace or running cards. The turn was the 9 and Borges was down to needing an ace to score the knockout. But the river was the 5 and Erkenov doubled to 1.4 million. Borges was hammered down to 160,000. Lamprea Forced Out Evan Lamprea raised to 38,000 preflop and Pavel Milanov made the call from a couple of seats over. The two players then saw a flop of 764 and Lamprea fired 52,000. Milanov made the call and the turn was the A. Lamprea fired another barrel, this one for 127,000. Milanov then decided to fire back, moving all in for 500,000. That caused Lamprea to muck his hand and he was down to 3.3 million. Milanov improved to 830,000. Baker Gives Up The Double David Baker raised to 36,000 and Russell Rosenblum made it 110,000 to go from the button. Baker put in one last raise for just 8,000 more, putting Rosenblum all in. Rosenblum: K9 Baker held two live cards but both players caught a piece of the A97 flop. Rosenblum stayed ahead when the board finished off J and 2 and he doubled to 275,000. Baker was at 717,000. Lodden With The KO Johnny Lodden raised from the cutoff and Richard Kirsch moved all in for 165,000. Lodden looked him up and they turned over their cards. Lodden: A9 Lodden jumped ahead in the race when the flop fell AQ4. The turn was the 2, giving Kirsch outs to a wheel. But the 10 bricked off and Lodden scored the knockout. He was at 2 million after the hand. Hougaard Doubles Through David Peters Picking up the action after the flop, Jesper Hougaard moved all in for 205,000 after the flop came down KK10. David Peters looked him up with QQ. But Hougaard had outflopped Peters as he tabled KJ for trips. The turn was the 4 and the river was the 4, filling up Hougaard and doubling him to 600,000. Peters was down to 580,000. Chan Takes One, Then Takes One On The Chin Picking up the action after the turn, the board read J832. Johnny Chan fired 85,000 and Robin Bergren popped it to 205,000. Chan made the call and the river was the 9. Chan kept his foot on the gas pedal as he led out with 250,000. Bergren had enough and threw his hand away. Chan took down the pot and he was at 2,850,000. A few hands later, Robert Pisano and Chan got into a raising war that saw Pisano all in for 2.19 million. Chan made the call and the ultimate cooler was shown. Chan: KK Chan was on the wrong end of the cold deck and the board ran out 105474. Pisano became the chip leader with 4.4 million while Chan was at 800,000. Dorfman Ejects Villard David Villard was all in preflop and Randy Dorfman put him at risk. Here were their hands: Villard: 33 Villard was in bad shape against the overpair and for possible flush draws were covered. The board ran out A10410J and Dorfman scored the knockout with jacks-full. He was at 1.45 million. Keikoan Flushed Away We didn’t catch the action, but Matt Keikoan found himself all in after the board had run out AJ364. Matthew Pearson decided to look him up and he turned over KQ for the second nut-flush. Keikoan could only show 74 for a lesser flush and he was shown the door. He took home $48,847 for his efforts in the Main Event and it was his third cash of the 2010 WSOP. He won a bracelet in Event No. 29 ($10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship). Pearson was up to 846,000 after the knockout. Affleck Dumped By The Ladies Jared Ingles opened for 35,000 and Daniel Chamberlain made it 85,000 to go from the hijack seat. Matt Affleck then made it 200,000 from the button and only Chamberlain stuck around. The flop then fell 863. Chamberlain checked to Affleck, who fired 225,000. Chamberlain made the call and the 3 came on the turn. Chamberlain checked again and Affleck slowed down as he did the same. The river was the 7 and both players checked again. Chamberlain then tabled QQ and Affleck mucked. Chamberlain was at 2.55 million after the hand while Affleck slipped to 2.45 million. Bellande Shows The Respect Jean-Robert Bellande and Jesper Hougaard each saw a flop of AA3. Both players checked and the 7 fell on the turn. Bellande led for 65,000 and Hougaard made the call. The 6 came on the river and Bellande fired 125,000. Hougaard then moved in for 458,000 and Bellande took a tank session. He eventually mucked AK face up as he dropped to 700,000. Seat 2 thought for a bit before finally calling. Seed chopped last time with the low end of the hand. This time, he tabled JJ44(JKK) for jacks-full. Seat 2 tabled an 8-7 low for the other half of the pot and Seed was sticking around some more with his short stack of 4,800. Schulman Scoops With Diamonds Nick Schulman bet 5,000 after seventh street was dealt and the player in seat 5 made the call. Sirous Jamshidi was also in the hand but mucked after the bet. Schulman announced he had a flush, showing (933)A6210. Seat 5 shook his head and then threw his hand in the muck. Schulman scooped a nice pot and was around 60,000. Hellmuth Bests Hansen Phil Hellmuth led out with 2,500 on fourth street and Gus Hansen made the call. Hellmuth led out for 5,000 on fifth street and Hansen tagged along again. It was the same story on sixth and Hellmuth fired another 5,000 on seventh showing A778. Hansen released his hand, KJ32, relatively quickly and surrendered the pot to Hellmuth. Hellmuth was at 47,000 after the win while Hansen was at 68,000. Habib, Lederer Eliminated We did not catch the two players boards, but Hasan Habib was eliminated by Dario Minieri halfway through level 11. Minieri was at 57,000 At another table, Howard Lederer was ousted by Richard Ashby, who was at 74,000 after the elimination. Gus Takes Pot From Bach Entering the action on 5th street, David Bach beet and was called by Gus Hansen. Hansen continued calling Bach on 6th and 7th streets, and they showed their hands: Hansen: (86)-5923-(4) Hansen showed a straight and the best low hand to scoop the entire pot.
