Nikolai Senninger Storms Up the Leaderboard

Nikolai Senninger raised to 250,000 under the gun and got a lone caller in Martin Gudvangen in the big blind.

The flop came down KClub SuitKHeart SuitQDiamond Suit and Senninger continued with a bet of 275,000. Gudvangen check-raised to 725,000 and after some thought, Senninger made the call.

The turn was the 4Spade Suit and both players checked. The river was the 5Club Suit and Gudvangen checked to Sennigner, who moved all in for 1.5 million. After some thought, Gudvangen called with Q-J, but Senninger showed pocket queens for a full house to chip up to 4.9 million. Gudvangen is hurt down to 1.6 million.

 

Nikolai Senninger Doubles Up

Action is folded around to Martin Gudvangen in the small blind and he put Nikolai Senninger all in on the big blind.

Senninger called with AClub Suit8Spade Suit and Gudvangen showed 10Heart Suit6Diamond Suit. The board came 9Spade Suit4Club Suit2Diamond Suit7Heart Suit4Spade Suit and Senninger doubled up to 2.5 million.

 

Rui Milhomens Eliminated in Sixth Place (£124,000)

Rui MilhomensRui Milhomens raised to 230,000 and Peter Eastgate put him all in.

Milhomens tanked for a bit before making the call for his last 2,175,000 with pocket eights. Eastgate shrugged and turned over ADiamond Suit10Spade Suit for a race.

The board ran out KHeart SuitQDiamond Suit6Heart Suit4Spade Suit10Heart Suit and Eastgate paired his ten on the river to send Milhomens to the rail. Eastgate chipped up to 7.46 million.

Raymond Wu Eliminated in Seventh Place (£87,000)

Raymond WuRaymond Wu waited a long time to get the rest of his chips in the middle, but finally put in the last 650,000.

Aaron Gustavson obliged by moving all in behind him to isolate and both players turned over their cards. Gustavson showed KClub Suit6Club Suit and Wu was in trouble but live with QClub Suit10Heart Suit.

The board rolled out KHeart Suit8Heart Suit5Diamond Suit5Club Suit2Diamond Suit and the Team PokerStars pro was eliminated in seventh place.

Champ Chips Up

Aaron Gustavson bets 200,000 and Peter Eastgate, who is on the big blind, asks how much Gustavson has. Gustavson then counts his chips and says “about 4.7 or 4.8 million”. Eastgate then reraises to 630,000 and the two have a stare-off. Eastgate looks straight back at Gustavson as the American tries to get a read. Eventually Gustavson passes.

Martin GudvangenRui Milhomens raises 230,000 from the small blind and Martin Gudvangen calls from the big blind. The flop is dealt 10Spade Suit 5Spade Suit 2Club Suit and both players check.

The turn is the 7Heart Suit. Milhomens checks and Gudvangen bets 305,000. Milhomens calls and the river falls the KClub Suit.

Milhomens checks once again and this time Gudvangen bets out 620,000. Milhomens quickly makes the call and when Gudvangen shows 10-8, Milhomens wraps the table and insta-mucks.

Gudvangen takes down a 2,380,000 pot.

Battle of Wills

Peter EastgatePeter Eastgate raises to 190,000 from early position and Aaron Gustavson in the big blind asks him how much he has. The answer is 3.7 million. Gustavson thinks for a moment and then calls.

The flop is AClub Suit 7Heart Suit 3Club Suit. Both players check and the turn is the 6Heart Suit. Gustavson checks and Eastgate bets 200,000. Gustavson grabs a stack of orange chips and makes the call. The river is the 8Heart Suit.

Gustavson checks, Eastgate thinks for a little bit, and then pushes 400,000 over the line. Gustavson takes out the amount and shuffles it for a moment. He then takes another stack out and raises to 1 million. After a minute Eastgate calls. “Have you an ace?” says Gustavson. “No,” said Eastgate as both players worryingly looked at each other.

The world champion then shows pocket eights for the set on the river and Gustavson mucks.
