Card Player Netherlands editor Anthon-Pieter Wink topped the 460-strong field at last weekend’s Unibet Open in Budapest lifting the top prize of €170,000 in the €1,650 buy-in main event.
Wink beat Peder Skaj from Sweden heads up when having raised 100,000 on the button and facing a raise of 300,000 he called. The flop came Q 9 3. Skaj moved all in and Wink called after reflection with the nut-flush drawing A 8 against the Swede’s J 10. A 10 on the turn shot Skaj into the lead but the K on the river saw the Dutchman hit his draw and win the tournament.
The final table payouts were:
1: Anthon-Pieter Wink — €172,500
2: Peder Skaj — €110,400
3: Joachim Buch — €74,175
4: Maksim Tyurin — €53,475
5: Klaus Nielsen — €41,400
