Inspired by the hospitality of the ancient Egyptians, Luxor Las Vegas continues the tradition of providing its guests with fine entertainment, dining, and accommodations; its bright light is a beacon to those looking for an oasis in the Las Vegas desert.
Inside and out, Luxor is as unique a resort-casino as there is on the Las Vegas Strip or anywhere in the world. Rich in authentic Egyptian ornamentation and detailed artistry, Luxor features elegant, modern accommodations and amenities worthy of Queen Nefertiti herself. Owned and operated by Mandalay Resort Group, Luxor is the second-largest hotel in the United States, boasting 4,408 rooms and suites, and is ranked as one of the top 50 resorts in the United States by Gourmet magazine.
Its 120,000-square-foot casino features more than 2,000 slot, video poker, and video keno machines in denominations ranging from 5 cents to $100 per play. Slot players can win millions of dollars on progressive slot machines, and luxury cars are also offered as jackpots. The casino also offers blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, Big Six, pai gow, Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride, poker, and keno.
"Home to one of the most comfortable and engaging poker rooms in the city, Luxor is an inviting retreat for those who want to relax and have fun," said Jim Weitzel, Luxor poker room manager. "Our poker room staff has a following of tourists and locals alike, who return time after time to visit their favorite dealers." One such dealer is Mae Legspi, a 25-year veteran of Mandalay Resort Group. "Mae has a charisma and special rapport that keeps customers coming back to her table. She knows the locals and easily makes friends with newcomers," Weitzel said.
Luxor's full-service and ultramodern race and sportsbook features 17 giant-screen TVs and 128 individual viewing monitors. Parimutuel wagers are taken for racetracks all across the country, and 24-hour payoffs on sports are offered.
In addition to the gaming action on the casino floor, Luxor provides a fast-paced yet intimate playground for the over-21 crowd, from stage shows to the latest in high-tech entertainment, a nightclub, and more.
Playing nightly to sold-out audiences in the 1,200-seat, state-of-the-art Luxor Theater is the hit show Blue Man Group: Live at Luxor. Blue Man Group is accompanied by a live band and is best known for its theatrical performances featuring three bald and blue characters who take the audience on a multimedia journey that is funny, intelligent, and visually stunning. Longtime friends Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton, and Chris Wink founded Blue Man Group in 1987 with a series of "happenings" that stemmed from salon-style meetings in New York City. These events developed into the award-winning show that opened off-Broadway at the Astor Theatre in 1991. Recipients of the Obie and Lucille Lortel awards, Blue Man Group performed in Boston and Chicago prior to its engagement at Luxor.
The Pharaoh's Pavilion is the home of the IMAX Theatre, the motion-based simulator ride In Search of the Obelisk, and the Games of the Gods Arcade. Projected on a screen measuring nearly seven stories high, IMAX films have frames that are 10 times the size of conventional 35mm film – creating 2-D and lifelike 3-D images that envelop viewers and pull them into other worlds. In Search of the Obelisk is a high-impact journey using the larger-than-life IMAX screen to usher guests through a dig site in a subterranean civilization. The Games of the Gods Arcade is a high-tech entertainment center with some of the newest games on the market, such as MAXFLIGHT VR2002 Programmable Roller Coaster.
For sophisticated nightclub fun, Luxor offers RA – Where Music Meets Fashion. Replete with plush VIP amenities and nonstop dance music spun by DJs, the 19,000-square-foot club features a center stage, two full-service bars, and a central dance floor surrounded by comfortable booths and tables. A state-of-the-art light and sound system creates a unique nightclub atmosphere.
In its second year at Luxor, the show Midnight Fantasy leads guests through the world of dreams-come-true with music, costumes, choreography, and interactive performances.
Luxor guests may dine under stars that twinkle indoors and experience a gourmet journey at Luxor's two award-winning restaurants, Isis and the Sacred Sea Room. Other dining options include the elegantly appointed Luxor Steakhouse, and Papyrus, which offers many Asian entrees including Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine, and Polynesian and Pacific Rim specialties.
Reminiscent of an ancient Egyptian bazaar, the Giza Galleria includes a variety of stores that offer everything from finely crafted authentic Egyptian vases to exotic bath and body products, clothing, children's gifts, and more.
The 19,000-square-foot Oasis Spa features a fitness center and a full range of affordable amenities, including aromatic steam baths and showers, hot and warm whirlpools, and a dry sauna. An extensive menu of Epicurean treatments include body wraps and scrubs, massages, facials, hydrotherapy, body composition analysis, personal training, and tanning.
And, the Luxor poker room spreads a variety of games, including $1-$4-$8-$8 and $1-$5 hold'em, $1-$5 and $1-$2 seven-card stud, and $2-$10-$20 and $1-$5 seven-card stud high-low split. The room also features a variety of daily tournaments and other special promotions.
