Well, you've just gotta hand it to MGM Mirage … within days of each other, both Bellagio and The Mirage announced that their poker rooms were going nonsmoking. I'm not sure if the effects felt will be immediate, but rest assured that within a short while (and I'm talking months, not years), any number of Las Vegas casinos is certain to follow suit.
Bellagio's Director of Poker Operations Doug Dalton and The Mirage's Poker Room Manager Donna Harris are both to be commended for making the decision that is likely to have many players talking, the world over.
A decision such as this is never entered into lightly, and I'm sure that both Doug and Donna, as well as the other executives at MGM Mirage, sat there with their fingers crossed as the announcement was made. As they had hoped, the initial response has been overwhelmingly positive.
So, again, I would like to congratulate Doug, Donna, and everyone at MGM Mirage on a job well done!
