We've been adding a slew of new writers to the mix here at Card Player in 2008, and I hope that you have enjoyed the new insights that these players have brought. From Gus Hansen talking tournament poker intricacies, to a dissection of winning pot-limit Omaha strategies, to the biggest cash-game players in the business sharing profitable live-game strategy, all of us at Card Player hope that these quality additions aid in your development, and increase your profits, as a player.

I'm excited to announce the launch of two new features with this issue.

First, Gavin Griffin, the only player ever to have won a World Series of Poker bracelet, a World Poker Tour championship event, and a European Poker Tour title, will share his poker insights. The 27-year-old poker prodigy with more than $4.4 million in lifetime tournament winnings answers poker strategy questions from Card Player readers. In each issue, we'll publish the best of the best, and you can read the first batch in this issue. Drop Gavin a line today at [email protected], and if we use your question, we'll ship you a free Card Player T-shirt.

Also, Roy Winston and Michael Binger are kicking off a great point/counterpoint discussion column in which they will pick apart interesting tournament and cash-game hands. This column, "The Oracle's Corner," launches in this issue. Roy, whose nickname is "The Oracle," was the winner of the 2007 WPT Borgata Poker Open, and he has amassed nearly $2.5 million in tournament winnings in less than two years. He has proven to be a voracious blogger on CardPlayer.com, and his articulate insights into the game and devoted work ethic will certainly make this a feature that you cannot afford to miss if you are serious about studying how big-name players play big hands in crucial situations. Michael, who finished third in the 2006 WSOP, has continued his winning ways on the tournament circuit. Last year, he cashed in a record eight WSOP events, and with seven tournament cashes so far in 2008, he has surpassed $5 million in lifetime tournament winnings. Michael, who probably has one of the strongest mathematical backgrounds of any poker player out there, will analyze hands to the core numerical fundamentals. Hopefully, it will key you into thinking about poker on a different level.

As always, we want to know what you want, so if you have any ideas to make Card Player even better, drop us a line at [email protected].
