The month-long PKR.com London Calling poker festival main event was won last night at the Fox Poker Club by 32-year-old Simon Wing from Middlesex.
The PKR regular saw off 203 opponents including renowned names such as Neil Channing, James Akenhead, Barny Boatman, and Joe Beevers en route to the title in the £300 buy in main event.
He beat Gem Husnu heads up with A-Q against A-9 and former European Poker Tour finalist Rory Liffey was third. Final place payout was originally £16,992 but the heads up duo agreed to take £13,000 each and continued to play for the title and £2,171.
PKR.com marketing manager Erika Schwartz Poole said, “The London Calling festival has been a great success and we are over the moon with Simon’s win. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. He came second at last November’s PKR Live III and with PKR Live V kicking off next weekend, we wish him the best of luck that his winning streak continues.”
