The quarter finals of the £2,000 + £200 no-limit hold’em World Heads-Up Poker Championship took place yesterday. Jeff Kimber beat Richard Gryko, Nik Persaud beat Victoria Coren, Toby Lewis beat Marius Torbeggien, and Leon Louis defeated last year’s champion Bambos Xanthos.
Leon Louis is now waiting to play the winner of the second semi-final between Toby Lewis and Nikhil Persaud taking place at 3 p.m. today, therefore using process of elimination Kimber must have exited at the hands of Louis in the first semi-final.
The WHU Championship is taking place during the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final (Nov. 18-28), and is being streamed live via webcast today, followed by broadcast of the GUKPT Final from Nov. 25-28.
