Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Final Main Event Starts Today

Key Event of Grand Final Gets Going; Players Make Last Dash for Player of The Year

2009 Grand Final Champion Tony CascarinoThe Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Grand Final main event kicks off today and will run for four days (including two starting days).

The £2,500 + £125 buy-in event is taking place at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London, and has a maximum capacity of 200 on each starting day. Players will sit down at 2 p.m. to 25,000 in chips with one-hour blinds.

The Grand Final kicked of on Nov. 18 with an array of satellites and side events, plus the World Heads-Up Championship which was won by Nik Persaud. Just like the WHU, the GUKPT Final will be streamed live via webcast from today through to Sunday.

Last year, Tony Cascarino won his second GUKPT title, this time for the 2009 Grand Final main event, and he took home £168,800 for topping a field of 183.

The GUKPT’S final main event of the year, plus the seven side events, are the last chance for those running for top place of the GUKPT leader board. Sitting in prime position for player of the year (and its £20,000 prize) is recent GUKPT Blackpool champ David Johnson. Some well known names also on the leader board are Neil Channing, Jeff Kimber, and Priyan de Mel.
