Fantasy Poker League Looking for PlayersPlayers Have Until June 27 to Register |
|
With the World Series of Poker less than two weeks away, a British company wants poker fans everywhere to be able to live the fantasy of playing in the biggest poker tournament in the universe right from their computers.
TheFantasyPokerGame.com is now recruiting players to compete in a fantasy league determined by this year's WSOP. The league will have a prize fund of $100,000, with $50,000 going to the winner.
The game is played much as other fantasy sports are played: Players build a roster of poker players they think will do well at the WSOP and whenever one of their poker players at least cashes at an event, they receive points. If one of their players wins an event, they receive 100 points. A second-place finish is worth 75 points; a third, 50 points, etc.
Participants can pick players from a provided list, or they can pick anyone they want, including themselves. A good tool to use while drafting players would be CardPlayer.com's player database which can be found here.
In addition to the prizes, those who have a team will automatically be entered in a drawing that will award a $12,500 prize package to this year's WSOP.
Registration is $30 per team or $60 for three teams. Players have until June 27, to register for the league. CardPlayer.com incorrectly reported that registration closed on Wednesday.
