World Series of Poker main event champion Joe Cada and actress Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm will be playing host to the third annual All In For Cerebral Palsy celebrity charity invitational poker tournament Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
The $540 buy-in with unlimited $200 rebuys tournament will benefit the One Step Closer Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps to ease the lives of those who suffer from cerebral palsy through financial freedom and social acceptance.
Half of the tournament’s prize pool will go towards the foundation. There will also be an auction of various sports and celebrity memorabilia and an after party.
Jacob Zalewski, who suffers from cerebral palsy and serves as President and CEO of the One Step Closer Foundation, started the event in 2008. “We hope too see a future where cerebral palsy is a thing of the past,” Zalewski said. “We now are getting one step closer to that vision every day.”
Other celebrities who are scheduled to appear in the tournament include Sean Astin, Sam Simon, Ray Romano, Jason Alexander, Norm MacDonald, Dean Cain, Jerome Bettis, Montel Williams and Donnie Wahlberg.
Mekhi Phifer of ER and films such as 8 Mile and O will be returning to defend his title. Last year’s event raised over $80,000 for the foundation.
