A little over 500 players returned for five more levels of poker on day 2 and by the end of play 238 remained. It should be another day before the money bubble bursts here in Los Angeles, but a few players have already set themselves up for a deep run in the tournament.

Joe DeNiro charged to the top of the leader board today when he became the first player to cross 300,000 in chips during the fourth level of play. He ends the night with 366,700. Michael Mizrachi is a familiar face at the top of the leader board with 227,600. The recent November Nine finalists is a former champion here at Commerce Casino. He won the L.A. Poker Classic back in 2005.

Another familiar haunt in the top five of the chip counts at the end of today is Nikolay Evdakov with 220,000. Rounding out the top five are James Carroll (264,800) and another recent November Nine finalist Jason Senti (258,200).

Some notable eliminations during day 2 included Liv Boeree, Johnny Chan, Jonathan Little, Tony Dunst, Shawn Buchanan, Prahlad Friedman, Eric Baldwin, Faraz Jaka, Isaac Baron, Antonio Esfandiari, Blair Hinkle, Bryan Devonshire, Jordan Morgan, Joe Tehan, Marco Johnson, Adam Levy, Gavin Smith, Jeff Madsen, Dwyte Pilgrim, and Daniel Negreanu.
