Vivek RajkumarThe 2011 WPT L.A. Poker Classic main event has reached the final two tables and among the remaining 18 players are some of the game’s best poker minds.

Leading the way is former WPT champion Vivek Rajkumar, who absolutely owned the final half of the day, picking on former chip leader James Carroll to amass 2,880,000 in chips, nearly three times the average.

Other notables in the top 10 include Carlos Mortensen, Allen Cunningham and 2009 Card Player Online Player of the Year Steve “gboro780” Gross. Gross was among the chip leaders entering the final level of the day before an ill-timed bluff sent a large chunk of his stack over to Shannon Shorr.

November Niner Jason Senti is still in the hunt, but he will have some work to do on the short stack. Senti is joined by fellow small stacks Matt Marafioti, Kathy Liebert, Darryll Fish and David Baker.

The action will continue Tuesday as the field continues the march towards the televised final table of six. Here is a look at the chip counts and seating assignments before play begins at noon.
