Doyle Brunson is arguably the biggest living legend in the game, and this week he’ll have to once again prove he can hang with some of the best young players in the game.
The 77-year-old is making his 13th appearance on NBC’s Poker After Dark and will be putting up $50,000 in a winner-take-all freezeout against the likes of Eric Baldwin, Andrew Lichtenberger, Melanie Weisner, Annette Obrestad and Tom Dwan.
The show is appropriately titled “Idol,” and will see Texas Dolly go to war against against the five young guns every night at 2:05 a.m. until a champion is crowned and awarded the $300,000 first-place prize.
On Saturday, after the airing of Saturday Night Live, Leeann Tweeden will host a special Director’s Cut of the tournament, featuring a behind the scenes look along with player interviews and highlights.
