Ben LambDay 1B at the 2011 World Series of Poker $10,000 no-limit hold’em championship is in the books and from the 985 players who entered 616 have survived. Those players from Day 1B will join the survivors from Day 1D on Tuesday, July 12. Cards get into the air for Day 1C at noon on Saturday and you can follow along with all of the action in Card Player’s live reporting.

Ben Lamb, who already has a bracelet this summer, ended the day leading the field with about 190,000. Other notables near the top include Ryan D’Angelo, Kevin Saul, Anton Ionel, Carlos Mortensen, and Sam Stein, who each ended the day with more than 100,000.

Saul was able to secure an early level-one knockout in the following hand:

Saul three-bet an early position raiser, and his opponent made the call. The two players then found a way to get it all in on a flop of QDiamond Suit 6Diamond Suit 2Club Suit. Saul showed pocket queens for top set and his opponent revealed ADiamond Suit JDiamond Suit for the nut flush draw. The turn and river fell 6Club Suit KDiamond Suit and Saul’s boat prevailed over his opponent’s flush to give him a knockout and a new stack of 61,750.

Notable eliminations on this first day of play includ Eric Froehlich, Ashton Griffin, Michael Tureniec, Justin Smith, Tuan Le, Erica Schoenberg, and 2010 final tablist Michael Mizrachi, who started the day running poorly and couldn’t get anything going.

Michael MizrachiOver at the featured table on a board reading AHeart Suit 10Diamond Suit 4Heart Suit 10Spade Suit, Mac Sohrabi bet and Michael Mizrachi put him all in. Sohrabi immediately called with ADiamond Suit 10Club Suit for a full house and Mizrachi saw that he was drawing dead with JHeart Suit 10Heart Suit for trips. Mizrachi was short after the hand and eventually hit the rail after his KClub Suit 10Club Suit failed to win a flip against pocket nines.

Here is a look at the unofficial top 10 chip counts:
