The BorgataThe Borgata Poker Open broke its own record this week, attracting 1,313 entrants for the largest tournament in World Poker Tour history.

Last year’s event, won by eventual Card Player Player of the Year runner-up Dwyte Pilgrim, drew the previous high of 1,042, but this year’s tournament benefited from the addition of a re-entry rule on day 1B for those who wanted to take one more shot or improve upon their day 1A chip count.

Thanks to the $3,500 buy-in, the total prizepool amounted to $4,192,913, easily covering the $3 million guarantee. The top 100 finishers will make the money and take home at least $8,386.

Those that make the six-handed televised final table will earn a minimum of $186,585 and the winner will leave Atlantic City with $922,441.

The final table will take place on Friday and will be broadcasted live on worldpokertour.com with commentary by Card Player blogger Tony Dunst and a rotating cast of poker professionals.
