NACPT Choctaw Prelims -- Day 3 Results

Mario Silvestri Chipleading Event 5 Heading Into Final Table

Day 3 of the inaugural Native American Casino Poker Tour Choctaw prelims saw a healthy turnout in all of its events.

Event 5 — $300 No-Limit Hold’em

Event 5 began an noon, with 217 players putting up the $300 buy-in, building a $55,933 prize pool that would be split among the top 24 finishers.

The event also qualified for Card Player’s Player of the Year race, awarding points to all of the players making the final table. In fact, the winner of this event will earn 264 POY points, which is more than the 180 points earned by 2011 World Series of Poker main event 10th place finisher John Hewitt.

The event played down to its final table of nine, with former online tournament specialist Mario “Pwnasaurus” Silvestri returning on Sunday as the chip leader to play for the first prize of $13,982.

Event 6 — $200 No-Limit Hold’em

The sixth event of the NACPT Choctaw series also had an impressive turnout, with 101 players putting up the $200 buy-in. A total of 13 players were to be paid out from the prize pool of $17,145. The first prize of $5,008 which was eventually won by Addison, Texas resident Fred Taylor.

Michael Dumas The nightly 7 p.m. tournament attracted 48 players, and was eventually won by Michael Dumas of Abilene, Texas. Dumas earned $1,577 for his victory. Five people made the money, and here is the complete payout information for the event:
