The short notice SuperStar Showdown rematch tonight between Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Isaac Haxton has generated a lot of interest within the poker community.
So much so that online betting exchange Matchbook.com has again opened a betting market on the game and punters have flocked to get on two-time winner Haxton making him a -145 (1.69) favourite against the young Swedish hotshot Blom who is +125 (2.25).
Haxton has won the last two renditions of the match but tonight’s game is different – both players take $500,000 to the table and will play until one player has all the money.
A Matchbook.com spokesperson said, “Any time you have two of the best players in the world battling it out in a structured format, there will be loads of interest in betting on the match. Given Isildur’s form it seems crazy for him to be the underdog in this match. But money talks, and if anyone feels differently they will surely be accommodated."
The game gets underway on PokerStars at 1 p.m. Eastern Time (US) today Saturday March 31.
