Roger Hairabedian Wins World Series of Poker Europe Event No. 3

Frenchman Tops Tough Final Table For First Bracelet

Roger HairabedianRoger Hairabedian outlasted a tough field of 97 to win the third event of the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe, the €5,300 buy-in pot-limit Omaha tournament. For the win the Frenchman was awarded his first WSOP gold bracelet and the €142,590 first-place prize. This was his ninth career title, bringing his lifetime tournament earnings to more than $2.7 million.

In addition to the title and money, Hairabedian also earned 432 Card Player Player of the Year points for defeating Ville Mattila heads-up. The Finn earned €88,130 and 360 POY points for his runner-up finish.

Third place finisher Michael Mizrachi earned €62,749 and 288 POY points for his fifth final-table finish of 2012, and as a result climbed to 11th place in the overall POY standings. The three-time bracelet winner won his second WSOP Poker Players Championship title in the prestigious $50,000 buy-in event this summer. This most recent score has brought “The Grinder’s” year-to-date tournament earnings to $2,026,379.

A number of notables cashed in this event, including Vanessa Selbst (12th – €9,929), Bruno Fitoussi (10th – €9,929), Jason Mercier (9th – €12,245) and Joe Hachem (6th – €25,490).
