Paul Hockin has won the Aus$2,000 + $200 PokerStars.com Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Melbourne main event at the Crown Casino.

With three players left Hockin was short stacked and took home AUS$101,275 after a deal saw him walk away with the smallest slice of the remaining prize pool.

However it would be over three hours before he walked away with the title after growing his stack from around 10 big blinds and getting lucky when his A-T bested Ashley Warner’s A-Q to cripple his final foe. He scooped up the remaining chips a few hands later and the ANZPT Melbourne title.

The final table pay outs were:
1: Paul Hockin — $101,275
2: Ashley Warner — $130,000
3: Michael Guzzardi — $112,000
4: Michael Lo Giudice — $47,610
5: Ismail Ismail — $37,950
6: Igal Augarten — $31,050
7: Karan Punjabi — $24,150
8: Anthony Aston — $18,975
9: Peter Matusik — $13,800
